User talk:Seru/Archive Pre
Welcome to my Talk page
Nice userpage. I love the colour scheme to it. :D — ク Eloc 貢 23:52, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
User page
Your userpage looks great, however, it is above the 300k limit for user mainpages per User page policy You may want to consider moving your userboxes to a subpage.-- Wynthyst 03:39, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
your sig
hey, you may want to take a look at GWW:SIGN#Images. Images in signatures (in your case the ele icon) should always be a special user image according to the GWW:IMAGE#User images naming. (Otherwise Image:Elementalist.png list of linked pages gets filled up from your comments) Accordingly, you could for example upload this icon again as Image:User Seru sig.png
and use this image for your signature instead.
- (Oh and btw, you indent by using colons instead of normal space, otherwise it looks like this :P) —ZerphaThe Improver 11:34, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
- np. I also made this mistake at first. I'm not someone demanding every policy, but there are some really useful ones. —ZerphaThe Improver 12:42, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Mini template
Heya! I realized the Mini Kirin was missing off my mini template, so I've added it. It's just Kirin = (?)-- Wynthyst 15:52, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

- The Apple icons are also copyright violations. Please make sure you upload images with the correct licensing. -- Brains12 \ talk 19:45, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- In regards to the Vista icon you mentioned, it is not an official Windows Vista icon, at least not that I've been able to find. If you can find it on a copyrighted site, feel free to tag it for copyvio.-- Wynthyst 19:58, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- These rules seem like a bunch of bureaucratic bs :\ — Renuro Seru Talk 20:01, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

User box template category
i'd suggest you ask next time XD i was intending to keep my boxes together inside the category, so i decided to simply leave out any sort. - Y0_ich_halt 22:19, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oo sorry about that — Renuro Seru Talk 22:21, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- no prob, was just some unnecessary edits :D - Y0_ich_halt 22:26, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
My opinion...
I find your tendency to place userboxes on people's talk pages to be really annoying. It clutters up the category pages, with talk pages/archives and really defeats the purpose of the user box. They are suppose to designate a user's personal choices, not someone else's.-- Wynthyst 19:20, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- Would you rather me put them is as {{User Am}} or something like that? I get what you're saying tho. Maybe you should try and make that a policy? — Renuro Seru Talk 19:23, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- I do understand you enjoy userboxes... and I'm sorry if I came off as harsh, I didn't mean to, it's just if you look at the categories you will see what I mean. And yes, I think the text versions are much better if you are just trying to show them to someone via their talk page. -- Wynthyst 19:25, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, Wyn only wanted to point something out to you, i strongly suppose she didn't want to appear unfriendly or wrote this intensively to annoy you. —ZerphaThe Improver 16:39, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

talk header template
just curious, does it look nice for you? i designed it in FF1 in which it looked nice (imo), now i upgraded to FF3 which completely misinterpretes the code and makes a box of fail outta that header. - Y0_ich_halt 08:43, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- it looks good in ie, so maybe theres some sort of app u have on FF that mucks it up--Sum Mesmer Guy contribs 09:02, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- i'm also using FF, and i miss a {{clear}} here :P —ZerphaThe Improver 09:04, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- it seems all browsers except FF3 extend divs to max width automatically if none is specified. i tried simply adding width:100%, but that messes up the whole template. - Y0_ich_halt 09:10, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- changed your inclusion a bit, i guess this is what you wanted to make it, though i don't think the colors are the best choice ;) - Y0_ich_halt 09:12, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Sig
You'll have to take out that Userboxes link from your sig; you can only link to your user page, user talk, or contributions. -- Brains12 \ talk 20:30, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well that stinks :( — Renuro Seru Talk 20:31, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
You shouldn't be making your font-size larger. I don't know what it looks like with your current font style because I don't have that particular one installed, but the larger font-size is making the gap between lines bigger than usual. It might help if you read Guild Wars Wiki:Sign your comments. -- Brains12 \ talk 17:57, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- With the font it made the sig look a bit small :\ — Seru Talk 18:19, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- As the policy says, you should be using a common font style. If you aren't using something common, you shouldn't enlarge the text as people without that style will use their own default style setting -- in which case, the gaps between text will be larger. -- Brains12 \ talk 18:24, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- Eh, i'm not one to read the policies to figure out what is common and what is not. — Seru Talk 18:53, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, it might save other people the time to point it out to you. It'll also save your time as you wouldn't have to change it later on. -- Brains12 \ talk 19:07, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- I thought that was your "job" to take the time to point stuff out to other people? And it doesn't not say what fonts should be used on that page. It only states "common fonts" if you want to make it so everyone uses 1 of 5 common fonts or something like that you should have it clearly stated. — Seru Talk 19:11, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- My "job" is not to point out policy continuously because people still don't read them even if they continue to make mistakes on what the policy is supposed to clear up. I'm not saying that policy must be read, but in the case where you're still getting notices about something, policies can be useful.
- I don't mind if you do use an uncommon font because any fonts that aren't installed appear as the default font style -- it doesn't affect me or anyone else either way. What does affect me is when you enlarge the font, which is why I notified you about it. I would like to thank you for changing stuff and listening to the notices, and I also don't want you to be negatively impacted by such -- however, there are some things that you can do in order to prevent these notices. Reading the policy for ideas on such can help, as it shows how the community think. -- Brains12 \ talk 19:25, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

archive
I neeed to set it up Galaxyyy 03:9, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- Set up an archive? — Seru Talk 04:01, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- yes Set up an archive Galaxyyy 04:10, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- you dont need to set one up until you want to clear your talk page. All you do is move everything on your talk page to a page that is labeled like this User talk:Seru/Archive1 and thats all you have to do. You don't need one until your talk page is full of stuff tho. — Seru Talk 04:14, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

I removed the Template namespace usages of that page as they don't "belong" to anyone. I also moved it to User:Seru/Seru nav as it doesn't belong in the main Template namespace (I replaced the name on the pages where it's used in userspace). Thanks, -- Brains12 \ talk 20:22, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- I can see the renaming but not the removing of it off all the templates . . . I really see no need in removing it :\ it's just there for reference — Seru Talk 20:30, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- You just seemed to take it off those pages that were in the "public space" I put them there so they were easier to find. you never yelled at Yo for doing the same thing, just his are under his name space not under the "public one". There was no point in taking that down. — Seru Talk 20:36, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- "just his are under his name space not under the "public one"" <-- that's why. Once you put something into the mainspace, you "lose" your personal credit. The mainspace is a collaboration, whereas the userspace is personal. Credit, other than the page history, does not belong in the mainspace, nor does personal recognition. If someone wanted to see userboxes in the mainspace, they can go to the user box templates category -- personal navboxes are not required. If someone wants to see who created/edited a page, they can see the page history. Had Y0 done the same thing but in the template namespace, I would have done the same thing if I had realised. Also, this argument of "I did something wrong, but someone else has also done it so it's ok for me to do it" is fallacious. -- Brains12 \ talk 21:01, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- It may be fallacious, but it just seems you had or have a vendetta against me for not reading the policies and/or wasting youtime. So is it that much of a stretch to think you are out to get me and not others? — Seru Talk 21:06, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- No, simply because I don't have anything against you. I'm just maintaining things, and what I maintain is based on what I see -- what I see usually comes from recent changes or browsing pages.
- I didn't say you were wasting my time, just that you could save time in future. I have a lot of time on my hands, and I'm glad I have something to get on with; however, it's easier on both of us to take the saving-time route so we can get going on other things, especially when guides and policies exist for that reason. -- Brains12 \ talk 21:13, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- I already wondered why you seru-nav stayed on the mainspace for such a long time, i wasn't sure whether it's allowed or not. Brains' second comment on that section is about the same as i thought there :P Please don't take the moves badly, he's just doing his job as bcrat and tries to help. —ZerphaThe Improver 21:34, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
