Welcome to the wiki[edit]
Welcome to the Guild Wars Wiki. I like your idea of posting zero-elite hero bars suitable for succeeding at a lot of early content. (It's one of the gaps in GW documentation — between pvx, guru, GWiki, and here, we don't necessarily do a good job of serving the needs of players in between newbie island and completion of the major campaigns). I hope to see more of the same.
(As a side note, I wonder if you are aware that there's a "Preview" button located near "Save." I've noted on the recent changes list over a hundred changes to your article; with the preview, you might be able to reduce that (it's rare that people need to save that often). When I'm editing a lot, I either use wikEd (a syntax-highlighting tools for wikis) or a fancy text editor (to save text offline), and then preview changes before posting to the wiki.)

- Sorry for all the edits instead of previews! This is my first time making a wiki article. :) Whydirt 05:03, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- As AFK says, no need to apologize :) Everyone is new at some point and you didn't really do something wrong as much as miss out on a useful tool. The more important point is: I like what you are trying to do in providing a set of hero builds that anyone has access to early. Keep it coming. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:33, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- I do have some other ideas for guides & tips pages I'd like to write. What's the easiest way to move my beginner guide to a new page and make my main page a portal to other my other pages?
- Also what, if anything, does the "This is a minor edit" checkbox do? I tried to use that as much as possible during my marathon of edits, but I have no idea what it actual does. Whydirt 05:40, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- You can click the move button at the top of the page and move it to User:Whydirt/Beginner's Guide to Heroes. As for minor edits, see w:Minor edit. --Silver Edge 05:50, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- Wendy Black has just started turning her page into a portal and has been sharing her trials, errors, and successes on her talk page. My own home page is also a portal, but there are plenty of other players who have done better jobs with theirs. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:55, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- (EC X 2) Some people use settings that stop minor edits from appearing in Special:RecentChanges, for them only, of course. It's generally asked that everything in the userspace and edits like typo corrections et al are minor'd. :)
- There's a downward pointing arrowhead at the top of your userpage. On the right. Click it and move the page wherever you like. The next time you go to your userpage, it will redirect you to the new location of your current version. At the top there'll be a link saying redirected from User:Whydirt. Click on that link, hit the edit button and get to work! ;)
- Maybe I'm dumb or missing something, but I don't see the downward arrows you helpful people are mentioning. I've tried looking in Firefox and IE, so I don't think it's a browser issue. Is there some sort of timer on my account that needs to trigger before I can move pages? I just registered right before I made my page tonight, so if that's the case, I assume that's my problem. - No that would be me... you're probably using the default skin. Derp. I'm sorry; it's late and I'm not at my best.
- There should be a 'move' tab next to the 'user page' and 'discussion' tabs.
- If not, as you said, there may be a delay of a few days before this option becomes available.
- A work around is going to another page, e.g. User:Whydirt/Example, and copy pasting the work there from your user page. A F K When Needed 06:06, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
