- Izzy taking a look at this. Bobby Stein 23:12, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, the grammar was correct. The noun for "is" is "anyone," which is a singular pronoun. The word "attacks" is part of a prepositional phrase modifying the participle "struck" and therefore its plurality is irrelevant. Zerin 22:54, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Skill: Vampiric Swarm

Should be: Try calling it a non-projectile spell.
Additional info: None
MiraLantis 00:20, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- I spoke with the writers about this, and apparently this was a design decision based on the fact that it takes a while for the delayed effect to get to the target before it takes effect. Thus it was decided that these skills would be called "slow projectiles", which differ from projectiles in that they cannot miss. --Chelsea Kibler 19:41, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Then the Deathly Swarm concise description needs to be updated to use "slow projectile" - currently it uses the traditional method of describing the skill behaviour. --Aspectacle 00:26, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Burning Speed
The concise description reads: You move XX% faster. You suffer from Burning (X seconds). End effect: inflicts burning condition (X seconds) on adjacent foes.
It should say: You move XX% faster (5 seconds). You suffer from Burning (5 seconds). End effect: inflicts burning condition (X seconds) on adjacent foes.
It currently doesn't show how long the speed boost lasts, and the burning duration is incorrect; it scales when it should be set to 5 seconds. --Macros 20:35, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Quest: Hog Hunt
Error: During the quest dialoge before you can accept the quest from Nehdukah, Beastmaster Yapono says:"I know this part of the story well. She lost her precious eggs, isn't that right Nehdukah? All lies I tell you, Nehdukah is no hunter." Should be: "I know this part of the story well. He lost his precious eggs, isn't that right Nehdukah? All lies I tell you, Nehdukah is no hunter." Additional info: Nehdukah is a male NPC, not a female one.
- It's not a typo. "She" who has lost her eggs is Zho. BlazeRick 12:06, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
- IMO "she" clearly refers to "Nehdukah", here's the entire pre-quest dialogue:
- Nehdukah: "Listen closely, Yapono, for I am about to tell you my famous tale. There I was walking through the Echovald Forest, when suddenly I found myself face-to-face with a Black Moa bird protecting her clutch of eggs...."
- Beastmaster Yapono: "Nehdukah's telling the Black Moa story again...doesn't he know that we all think he's a fake?"
- Nehdukah: "It was the most amazing creature I had ever seen...a Black Moa as dark as the nighttime ocean. Behind her was a nest full of eggs...."
- Nehdukah: "While I was in the bushes, another hunter emerged from the forest. I can only assume she, too, was in search of this mystical creature."
- Nehdukah: "But this Black Moa was canny. It heard her coming and yet didn't move a muscle! She approached, and out of nowhere the beast attacked her and knocked her to the forest floor."
- Nehdukah: "Of course, at this point, I had to act quickly. I ran out to save the other hunter, despite the danger to myself. Sadly, I was one heartbeat too late. The cruel bird got in one more vicious peck...."
- Nehdukah: "And it pecked one of her eyes right out of her skull. Terrible! I will have nightmares of the horrible sight for years to come. She was so grateful to have survived that she gave me two of the eggs from the nest."
- Chitundu: "Tore out her eye? I bet she didn't see that coming. Ha! I mean, that's terrible. Where are these eggs now?"
- Beastmaster Yapono: "I know this part of the story well. She lost her precious eggs, isn't that right, Nehdukah? All lies I tell you. Nehdukah is no hunter!"
- Nehdukah: "I am a mighty hunter, Yapono, you'll see. I will go and bring back an impressive pet to prove it. You'll see!"
- Beastmaster Yapono: "Don't hurt yourself trying, Nehdukah. Pets are for real hunters, not for tale-tellers like you."
- Zho gave Nehdukah the eggs, Nehdukah somehow lost them. Either the dialogue is supposed to be "he lost his precious eggs" or Nehdukah is supposed to be female but was accidentally given a male model. I suspect the latter, as "-a" and "-ah" are common endings for european and middle eastern feminine names, and another NPC in Istan, Kushau, was accidentally given a female model. -- Gordon Ecker 00:18, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. Chitundu's words before the sentence in question did it. BlazeRick 15:38, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- Nehdukah is supposed to be male. By the way, I believe this name is based on the North African "Nduka." In regards to the use of "she" in this statement, I don't think this is supposed to be "he" either because it is unusual in English to speak to someone about themselves in third person. Since the only 2 other characters in the story are female, it follows that Yapano was speaking of one of them. I've always taken this as Yapano saying "Yeah yeah. The black moa lost her eggs. That's nice, but I still think you're lying." Btw, the original author is no longer at ArenaNet, so I can't confirm his original intentions. Since there are ways to interpret this statement that make the gender pronoun correct, we'll just give him the benefit of the doubt and leave it as is. Thanks! -Kim Chase 21:25, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- I still think the statement refers to Nehdukah, here are the relevant lines (including the initial dialogue for Hog Hunt, which I omitted earlier), with my commentary:
- Nehdukah: "And it pecked one of her eyes right out of her skull. Terrible! I will have nightmares of the horrible sight for years to come. She was so grateful to have survived that she gave me two of the eggs from the nest." ⇐ Zho gave Nehdukah two eggs.
- Chitundu: "Tore out her eye? I bet she didn't see that coming. Ha! I mean, that's terrible. Where are these eggs now?" ⇐ Chitundu asks Nehdukah what happened to those two eggs.
- Beastmaster Yapono: "I know this part of the story well. She lost her precious eggs, isn't that right, Nehdukah? All lies I tell you. Nehdukah is no hunter!" ⇐ In response to Chitundu's question about what happened to Nehdukah's eggs, Yapono finishes the story, telling Chitundu that someone lost her eggs, then asks Nehdukah to confirm that's how the story ends, then tells Chitundu that the story's a lie and Nehdukah's no hunter. If "she" refers to anyone other than Nehdukah, the ending would fail to answer Chitundu's question.
- ...
- Nehdukah (initial quest dialogue for Hog Hunt) :"I found out that the horrible tales of the Black Moa bird are true. They are vicious little buggers that kill most of their pursuers, so there are very few who can tell the tale. I have even learned the secrets of hatching and raising Black Moas and yet everyone laughs at me! I cannot find a Black Moa let alone a Black Moa egg, but perhaps I could tame an impressive warthog and show these Istani that I am a hunter to be reckoned with." ⇐ Nehdukah claims to be unable to find a black moa or a black moa egg, supporting the "she" = Nehdukah interpretation of Yapano's quote.
- I'm marking this with a white X like the ones used on ArenaNet talk:AI bugs to mark things which are not considered issues but are still under discussion. -- Gordon Ecker 05:15, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- I've been so tied up with GW2 development that I haven't had a spare moment to revisit this issue, among others. Skill: Celestial Storm
Error:
Normal description: "Skill. A celestial storm forms at target foe's location for 15 seconds. All foes in the area take 40 damage each second."
Concise description: "Skill. Deals 40 damage each second (15 seconds). Also hits foes in the area of target's initial location."
Should be:
Normal description: "Skill. A celestial storm forms at target foe's location for 15 seconds. All foes in the area take 40 cold, earth, fire and lightning damage each second."
Concise description: "Skill. Deals 40 cold, earth, fire and lightning damage each second (15 seconds). Also hits foes in the area of target's initial location."
Additional info: Skill deals 4 pulses of 40 damage each second, testing has confirmed that exactly 1 pulse deals cold damage, exactly 1 pulse deals lightning damage, at least 1 pulse deals fire damage and all four pulses deal some form of elemental damage. The fourth pulse is suspected to deal earth damage, however it's possible that it deals fire damage or "generic" elemental damage.

Skill: Spear of Lightning
Error:
Normal description: "Spear Attack. If this attack hits, it deals +8...18...20 lightning damage. This attack has 25% armor penetration."
Concise description: "Spear Attack. Deals +8...18...20 lightning damage. 25% armor penetration."
Should be:
Normal description: "Spear Attack. If this attack hits, it deals +8...18...20 damage. This attack has 25% armor penetration and deals lightning damage."
Concise description: "Spear Attack. Deals +8...18...20 damage. 25% armor penetration, deals lightning damage."
Additional info: The current description implies that lightning damage is added to the attack's regular damage, the skill actually converts all damage from the attack into lightning damage.

- It's unblockable and I don't think it can miss. Have you confirmed that it's not a touch skill with "Can't Touch This!"? -- Gordon Ecker 05:32, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
- If it's a touch skill, then the description should call it a Touch Skill instead of a Melee Attack. Either way, there's still an error. —Dr Ishmael

- Flourish can recharge it, so it's technically an attack skill. -- Gordon Ecker 08:07, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
