Intensity Intensity

Beetlejuice Issue -- 23:00, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Discussion

Issue
This skill was overnerfed to uselessness. In realistic situations you loose even more of the already very short duration because you have to precast it quite some time because it otherwise would mess up your attack sequence.
Suggestion
Change it to stance or shout (stance if you want ppl to choose between this and mantra of resolve, shout if you want them to have both on). This way you can put it on the moment you want the dmg buff without messing up arcane echos, glyphs and other precast stuff and you don't loose castingtime worth more than the dmg buff itself.
Or change it to either of this: Change Intensity into a hex: "The next X times that foe gets hit with elemental damage, the damage is doubled."
Or: "For x seconds your damaging/elemental spells deal additional damage equal to 50% of your max energy."
Or: Applies Broken Armor to all foes in the area around the caster.
Or: Wards are extended to affect enemies within hearing range and last 10..80..100% longer.

I noticed that Intensity was the only Sunspear skill not changed in today's update. I find this funny because "By Ural's Hammer!" was buffed. Now, there is no reason to ever take Intensity anywhere.
Suggestion
Increase the duration to 15 and reduce the recharge to 30, like it was before. Maybe give it a higher percent, since Ural's Hammer affects all damage, and Intensity only affects spells.

Another suggestion

Wards are extended to affect enemies within hearing range and last 10..100% longer.
Wards deal 10..30 damage per second, while they last.

Bubbinska's Suggestion

Issue

Removable, longer recharge than "By Ural's Hammer!" is a spell so you have to break casting combos as mentioned above. Should buff elemental damage (it's called intensity) without buffing broken skills like Cry of Pain and Necrosis as a side-effect.

Suggestion

Change functionality to: For 10 seconds, allies within earshot deal +15...25% more elemental damage. retain recharge time to encourage multiple players to bring this skill.

Suggestion 2

Change functionality to: Stance. For 10...20 seconds, your elemental spells recharge instantly but cause exhaustion.

5 Energy1 Activation time45 Recharge time - (Sunspear rank) - Enchantment Spell. (10 seconds.) Spells cast by earshot party members deal +15...25% damage. Your spells recharge 15...25% faster.

  • Issue:
If the skill is buffed, it would be too much when using AoE skills, but buffed or not, is not an option when using single target skills.
  • Suggestion:

10 Energy2 Activation time30 Recharge time - (Sunspear rank) - Enchantment Spell. For 10 seconds, your spells deal +50..100% extra damage (maximum 100) spread between all targets. If you hit less than 11 targets, you lose the difference in Energy.

With this, at max rank:
  • 1 target 1 hit of 150 damage: 250 damage dealt. 10 Energy lost.
  • 1 target 10 hits of 30 damage: 60 damage per hit. 600 total damage. 10 energy lost.
  • 10 targets and 10 hits of 30 damage: 33 damage per hit. 330 total damage to each target. 1 Energy lost.
  • 5 targets and 10 hits of 30 damage: 36 damage per hit. 360 total damage to each target. 6 Energy lost.
  • 2 targets and 2 hits of 100 damage: 150 damage per hit. 300 total damage to each target. 9 Energy lost.

This will definitely make the skill work 'intensifiying' the effect of the spell, making it deal more damage the more 'concentrated' the effect is, and losing energy when the effect it's at its peak. And players will be able to choose between quickly taking enemies out one by one or a small buff to AoE. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 15:11, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

I was just reading up on Chimera of Intensity, and had a great idea. How about we make this a lite version of CoI, affects only you with 25% recharge and cost buffs for only elemental spells? The Boz 13:28, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
