ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Ability to race

The concept of racing is not a duplicate on mounts and could be considered on foot as well mr unknown tag man. I think that race tracks are a brilliant idea. Players can and have set up their own races in GW1 but there's no incentive. The only developer installed race was beetle racing but that was more about stopping your opponents from moving and I found that frustrating as hell cause the people behind had the advantage and it wasnt spontaneous or fun. What ArenaNet could do is set up a beaten path in some field and put a box at the podium or whatever. Each player sticks something in the box and when all players are happy with what the others have offered they stand in the stalls and wait for a count down using their running skills to win. There could be environmental effects in avoidable areas and shortcuts and if a player jumps off the track they faint and keep returning until a player has finished. The winner takes all!! Its more fun with items but its easier if they merely added money to a pot, then it could be divided between the first, second, third whatev. It certainly doesnt detract from the game in any way, except introducing gambling issues. They already removed /roll X from outposts for that very reason. Don't change the meaning of a suggestion when editing it. If you wish to suggest a racing minigame, use the minigames suggestion page, thanks. Backsword 18:18, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
