I don't mind paying separate for each family member, but when I bought add-ons (Nightfall expansion, extra character slots) for my brother, sister, and friends, they didn't allow me to add it to the 3rd account. I guess it is a rule to stop gold farmers or something? It was really annoying. I just wanted to give them some characters slots. =( - Elder Angelus 21:30, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Its a really nice idea, but it could so easily be abused. It just needs one person to decide to give absolutely anyone access and it would bring Arenanet to its knees financially. Also malicious people could/would sell access for a reduced price and make money out of the system.- TheRave 21:33, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Here's a good implementation- A family access key should cost about 50% more than the game itself(Guild Wars 2 will not have individual chapters IIRC.) So if the game is $50, the family access key should be $75. The family access key should allow the creation of up to 4 additional accounts at half price. So if it is used properly, it could save up to $75(5 access keys normally would be $250, but with this, 5 access keys would be $175).

The one thing I have to say about this is that ArenaNet already allows you to play their great game at under 1/2 the normal cost of other MMO's, assuming you play for over 3 months. I feel rather amazed that you have the audacity to say that its to much money. Normally MMO's cost 50$ to buy, then another 15 a month to play, AND 50 for each released expansion. Assuming you play the game for 5 months, you have saved 75$ over a traditional MMO, if you have played for 3 years like I have, you have saved 540$. assume the average player plays for 1 year, then multiply that times the number of players that GW1 has, and thats Money that ArenaNet would be perfectly justified asking for, and hasn't. I think that if 3 people want to play, 50$ for each is an excellent price to ask, you should just be thankful you aren't paying 45$ a month to maintain those accounts. --Angelic Loki
