ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Limited Ammo

Condensed it to make it clearer. I think Diablo would be a pretty good example of how a spear could be used in melee and ranged, but boosting the damage if it was in range. Its just an issue between melee restrictions for the current system, or limited supply for the new one. (Terra Xin 23:16, 7 July 2008 (UTC))

This goes against what GW aims for. — Skakid 23:22, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
so no one would play a ranger for fear of running out of ammo, Classes that have limited attacks that are based on a maximum amount of ammunition they can carry are imbalanced in a bad way. Why play a ranger when the warrior can attack as many times as he wants? For this to actually work swords and like weapons would have to age and break down, which is ludicrous. --99.153.226.11 06:32, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Durability

It adds realistic, a ranger could not kill a guy with a 200 pound armor gear on, nor can shoot unlimited arrows, this would totaly balance pvp. Chase Payne 06:36, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

IMO durability and ammo is a stupid idea... it just becomes annoying and u also waste unnessecary amounts of money. if u want realism in this aspect, go do achery in-real-life lol.

IMO id rather take durability and ammo over armour crafters as a money sink any day and it will only become a chore if it degrades ever freakin hour of gameplay hey i have an idea evey 10 hours why not recharge it then it wouldnt be so bad. youd be in a town anyways in 10 hours.

i agree, why waste money on your ranger's ammo when you can be out getting stuff for your guild hall or something? i mean, really the idea isn't very good at all when you think about it..... guild wars doesn't need weapon limitations like other games in which the weapons actually break, also, if we want to play a realistic game then why are we using skills like "phoenix" and "avatar of balthazar"?--Animus 16:50, 23 August 2008 (UTC)animus

My favorite profession is Ranger, and honestly, I think if Guild Wars 2 has easier ways to make money, and arrows are cheap enough that you won't have to spend every penny on them, then yeah, I think you should have to pay for arrows. At least maybe pay for an unlimited quiver? Invisible Infinate Spear Bag 16:36, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

I had to laugh at some of the Cons that got put up on this article, "adds a chore" "Hammerspace" "Why should Rangers have to deal with 'realism' of limited arrows when you can shoot fireballs out of your hand and raise the fucking dead?" very amusing. Made this article worth reading. I agree with the general consensus of this being a bad idea.--Will Greyhawk 12:30, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Sadly enough, if they do agree to this, that means that other professions will have something that you have to buy to get your profession to work effectively. Oh wait, thats WoW... yea the point of GW is to be different from other MMO's even though it is adapting to a wider variety of audience, it's mechanics and professions are still completely unique.

Limited Ammo is a STUPID IDEA, NO NO NO NO NO, would seriously wreck all ranged classes for me, runescape is gay so stay as far away from their bad ideas as you can please..... 91.110.70.212 18:59, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
