ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/New Profession Ideas
Fixed subclasses instead of using the current attributes are likely to end up with fixed gameplay. Simply put, you would be restricted to only one attribute (unless extra skills would be added, which is unlikely as I understood there may actually be less). With only a few dozen skills, not only do you have very few strategies available, but in fact most skillbars ('builds') of some subclasses would be almost identical. Skills would almost always be very straightforward since they wont have anything to combine them with. Skills like imaginary weaponry would be almost completely useless to implement. Also some professions/subclasses would be guaranteed boredom, at that point you cant use your healing monk at all anymore for other purposes. Also, unless each subclass is half filled with 'tricks' like selfheal, blocking skills etcetera, every subclass would likely be extremely vulnerable. So overall, I find this a bad idea, takes away some of the unique features of GW that are most fun to play with. --Tenshi Samshel 17:43, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
- just a suggestion for the future, it would be wise to avoid the phrase "you should." Many of the devs (target group) will not even read the rest of the post if you use that phrase.
