ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Sending mail and items to other users

The biggest problem to this is server space for all the mail messages, etc. Also, if you limit a mailbox to 'x' number of messages at anytime, then that 1 extra message is lost, or lost in a queue somewhere, occupying even more space. In addition, people will SPAM ads or insulting things to everyone, tying up server space and probably causing severe lag to the game. Otherwise, it sounds like a good idea.--209.194.208.116 20:02, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

I was leaning more towards being able to just send people money/items. Not really letters persay, or maybe it could be enabled that you can only send/receive packages from people you've befriended (like a friend's list, people would have to accept/deny the request, so you couldn't just add every character possible and spam them). But I get that space would be an issue, which is obviously a large issue to tackle. --70.16.230.99 23:19, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Adding some thoughts from another suggestion: "[My idea] is essentially giving every acccount an email address. Guilds can send out mass mailings to their members. Players can send messages to people who aren't online at the moment. Attachments (items) could be sent so deals could go through without both people online. The possibilities are endless. Players could choose to receive messages only from guildmates or people on the friends list to cut down on spam. The only online RPG I've ever seen it in is a small one called Faldon, but it was incredibly handy there." --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:203.110.145.13 (talk).
