Already done actually, and in a balanced way, try 2 imagine an elementalist with 80 armor, or a warrior with 60 armor! no reason =P --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:147.236.238.29 (talk).

Actually, the suggestion is a tad different than armor rating. azalea||chat 19:16, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I see this as an Armor Rating type thing. 60 = Light, 80 = Heavy.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 02:34, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

This could be a good idea. The light armor would let you move faster and attack faster, but your will take more damage. With the heavy armor you will move slower and attack slower, and take less damage. There could also be a mid armor that would just be in between the two. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:71.175.157.12 (talk).

I assume you mean something in line of permanent Frenzy or Dolyak Signet coming with an armour, just to a lesser extent. That could be an interesting idea really. - 88.156.8.254 23:53, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

This also leaves open various possibility for caster class other then movement and attack speed, such as cast time, +/- to attributes, or other reasonable buffs with the obvious trade of in vulnerabilities elsewhere.
