I think it's good the way it is. Any other armor ignoring Elementalist spike skill has the same casting time. And this can potentially deal the most damage of them all. 145.94.74.23 08:46, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

@Desocupado: The casting time is the way it's supposed to be, see reply above. The recharge might be a bit too long, but as for the synergy: it's great when you combine it with a high energy set. Personally, I combine it with Magnetic Surge and Obsidian Flame in Hard Mode PvE, and I actually deal a lot of armor-ignoring pressure damage instead of spiking with it. Normally, it would be a bad combo, since Obsidian Flame causes exhaustion, but because of the high energy set, I can easily make sure it deals 115+ damage. Add a Sandstorm and an Armor of Earth to the mix, and you have yourself a high damaging Elementalist that can take a punch as well. Of course, it's not Pain Inverter, but it does match cry. 145.94.74.23 07:56, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't match Cry - Cry of Pain is AoE. My only problem with this skill is the regen, which I agree should be 15 seconds or maybe even 10 seconds to put it more in line with other skills that are used for spiking like Obsidian Flame, Shockwave, and Rodgort's Invocation (all of which have pros and cons). This skill already has a huge downside (you need 74 or 75 energy when casting depending on if you're using a +30/-2 or not), which in itself limits its spammability potential in PvP (in PvE you could probably run it with something like perma-Ether Renewal). Izzy already nerfed the max damage (140->130), but IMO it should be made more into an Exhaustion-less Obby flame with a moderately longer recharge and the high energy requirement (maybe even up the req for 2x to 10). 20 seconds burns off ~7 points of exhaustion, so Obby can has an advantage (faster refresh) with the downside that you need to wait for exhaustion to wear off. But with this, you need to wait for energy to build to at least 75 for max effect, so it basically has the downside without a real upside. --Falseprophet 19:15, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
