Skye Marin's Issue

While they're at it, I'd like to see them make the damn title retroactive and give us credit for ALL the Kurzick/Luxon faction our accounts have earned...Hyper Cutter 22:43, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Regarding feasibility, even if they couldn't make it max out midway through the title (which they might be able to do, depending on how the rank 20 attribute cap works), they could split the title vertically, with a lower title linked to the skills which maxes out at 400k and a higher title which starts at some point after 400k and maxes out at 10 million. -- Gordon Ecker 07:16, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
Not without rewriting the engine. They could have two titles, with only one usedas an attribute, but that is a different suggestion. Backsword 07:24, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
The current system generates effecive attribute rank by multiplying title rank by 1.5 for Luxon and Kurzick skills or 1.25 for other skills and then truncating the result. Attributes altered by buffs cannot be increased above 20, if the effective attribute rank for title skills is treated as an attribute buff, it would be subject to the same cap, and they would probably be able to just change the multiplier from 1.25 to 7 and alter the effective attribute ranks used for generating Kurzick and Luxon skills from 0 and 15 to 0 and 20 (they already changed it from 0...12 to 0...15 in the August 23rd update). If it's not treated as an attribute buff, it should be possible to code skills which stop scaling beyond a certain rank. For example several skills such as Lightbringer's Gaze and "There's Nothing to Fear!" "X per title rank", "X per attribute rank" or "X per N attribute ranks" effect and several skills such as Enraged Smash and Mystic Regeneration have capped stacking conditional effects, it should be possible to combine the two. For example it should be possible to change Ether Nightmare's functionality to "Target foe loses 5 Energy plus 1 Energy per rank of <title> (maximum energy loss of 8). For each point of Energy lost in this way, that foe and all foes in the area suffer -1 Health degeneration for 10 seconds.". -- Gordon Ecker 09:09, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
The first wouldn't work as it's the attribue itself, not the calculation that has a cap. The second could work but is overly complicated. They could just increase the max value and add caps (eg your "(maximum energy loss of 8)"). But as said, the is another suggestion. Backsword 09:15, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Actually the calculation is slightly off. The time to max the Kurz and Lux title are drastically differently When I was doing the kurz title it took ~50 minutes to generate 10k of faction. This is doing FFF off Lutgardis Conservatory. However, it takes ~60 minutes to generate 10k faction for the luxons. Granted this is not much time difference, but when the runs are done to the magnitude of thousands that 10 minutes makes a huge difference. As for the 'fix' for this title it would be nice if the ranks were either recalculated so that the last rank has even more weight or, the amount of faction needed to acquire the max rank was reduced. This reduction could be accomplished in several ways, a direct reduction (making the title max at say 8 mil), or increasing the amount that one gets for turning in faction (such as the double faction weekend), or even increasing the yield of faction one gets from the quests. Fixed

This has been fixed now, hasn't it? 145.94.74.23 13:06, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Not necessarily. There have been complaints that the new methods aren't as fast as HFFF used to be. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 02:31, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
