actualy putting suggestions on
um how? could i just sya here and someone write for me? 81.132.243.245 19:35, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Nope, adding suggestions here would lead them to be deleted. Erasculio 19:56, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- then how i post em? 81.132.243.245 20:34, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- You create a subpage to your user name with your suggestions composed and clearly written out, and put the proper code on the page to categorize it as a Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 suggestion. Like [[Category: Guild Wars 2 suggestions]].
- then how i post em? 81.132.243.245 20:34, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Might be a little preemptive to do so right now, though. See, the way the licensing works ANet can't use something that is licensed exclusively under the GFDL. Steps have been taken to allow for a space on the wiki you can post suggestions on that they can actually read and respond to, but policy is still being hashed out about how to organize and regulate that space. The important people on the wiki (In other words, people who aren't me) will let the rest of us know when something has been decided.
- Oh, and 81.132.243.245? You might want to register an account. While no much has been decided yet, the idea that people will have to have a registered account with the wiki to post suggestions hasn't been disputed in any of the discussions that I've read.--Ryan Galen 03:19, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- I have a username, and a suggestion, and a suggestion page i made. how do i get it from my "contributions" thing, to the GW1 suggestion section? Where would i need to put the template code, etc.--Foxtrot1988
- I confess I had the same issue. At the top of your page put [[Category: Guild Wars suggestions]] - it is case sensitive, you have to put it in exactly as I typed it there. Once you do that it will automatically add you to the index. Creating the subpage was a bit simpler and a bit more tricky at the same time. On your talk page, put in User:Name/Suggestions. Then save. Then, go to your User Page, click on the link (which will be red because it's empty), and put your suggestions there, and put the [[Category: Guild Wars suggestions]] at the top, click save, and TADA! You are done! Hope this helps. Mortius 09:35, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Needs work
The layout of this page is not how this was envisioned at all. Nor was it sold to the community in this way.
Each suggestion was to be stored in its appropriate userspace, however the suggestions page itself was to appear as it was, categorized by suggestion category, not by username.
This is a mess. Flipper 04:45, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
not a fan of this
If y'all were trying to kill the whole process of posting suggestions, then well done. I used to enjoy scrolling around and taking a look at everything folks were posting, and adding my own sometimes, but all that's gone now. I'm guessing someone got tired of seeing all the suggestions, because we went from a well organized system to whatever the hell nikiwiki is.Vidal 13:22, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I recant what I said before. Of course, I noticed the page that explains why the changes were made right after I made the above post. I didn't know the other page was a nightmare to maintain. I still like the old set up better though.Vidal 14:01, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- There is a new suggestion namespace being set up. If you wish to join in the discussion about how it's all going to work, go to Guild Wars Wiki talk:Feedback organization. -- Wyn talk 14:05, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
New Layout For Suggestions Page?
As it has already been pointed out, the suggestions page could use a rework. This is my attempt at an idea for a new layout. Any comments? If this is the wrong place to discuss this than a point in the right direction would be great :) Awpaperwings 08:03, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
