Not sure on how all this works, I went to the report a wiki bug and it said to use the discussion panel. What i have noticed is that alot of the links to the various Anet employees who have user pages on the wiki are wrong if you try to find them. On this page if you try to get to Andrew Mcleod (spell check) it takes you to a page ...but his actual user page is http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User_talk:Andrew_McLeod same with Linsey Murdock..and a few others.

Again forgive me if i am doing this wrong. --Coridan 16:26, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Coridan

I don't think it's really a bug, though...For example, if you try to find yourself, you likely won't find anything - that's because you are searching among the articles, and there's no article named over you, but there are articles named over the Arena Net guys. If you searched the user pages (by making the search feature to look through the user pages as well; you can do that on your "my preferences" section), then you would find both your name and the user pages for the Arena Net guys. The best idea to fix this, IMO, is by adding the links to their user pages on the articles about each Arena Net employer who posts here - then you would be able to find a link to their user page by searching their names in the Main area.Erasculio 16:33, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
I agree not a bug...just misspoke there i guess. Thanks for the tips on the search feature. I am pretty much new to the wiki system. But i can see how beneficial it is to the game. You guys are doing an awesome job. Maybe once i get a feel for how things work i can help out.--Coridan 11:18, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

New section[edit]

Question for you Wiki folk. Do you think we should denote employees that end up leaving ArenaNet for one reason or another? Reagan 07:26, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Edit: Just to clarify my own question... I don't mean to suggest that we'd ever mention anything related to *why* the employee left, or where they went on to work, post ArenaNet. (because that would not be pertinent nor appropriate) I was mainly curious how you guys felt about maintaining the accuracy of the active -vs- non active "employee status", as far as the Wiki's employee bio's are concerned. I'd think It'd be appropiate to change the tense used from present to past. We do strive after being factually correct. Backsword 07:49, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
So, I hear what you are saying about using the past tense, but take a look at this example and tell me how you'd advise changing it to reflect a non current employee. (if we'd change it at all, I'm just not sure what the proper etiquette/procedure should be on this topic.) http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Ron_Critchfield The preceding unsigned comment was added by Reaganwright (talk • contribs) at 20:38, May 9, 2008 (UTC).
As Backsword mentioned, changing the tense of the article would be a good place to start and may even be all we need although maybe have an additional version of Template:Anet employee for people who have left ArenaNet again using past tense. --Kakarot Talk 13:57, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
But what's the point of keeping the articles on employees who left ArenaNet though? — Eloc 20:07, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
They may have left, but their contributions haven't. If Patrick Wyatt resigned tomorrow, he'd still be one of the three founders of ArenaNet. I think we should have a former ArenaNet employees category as a subcategory of ArenaNet employees. -- Gordon Ecker 22:30, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, I personally don't find them all that useful, since most of them are pretty short and how the more prominent ArenaNet wiki users just link to their own user page. Far more useful would be to just put a list or table of employees in ArenaNet. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 06:08, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
