categorization[edit]
i already asked this at talk:rune but i think this is actually the more appropriate place.
currently individual insignia are categorized under both category:armor bonus (which is sub-cat of category:armor) and category:insignia (which is sub-cat of category:upgrade components). the armor bonus article mentions runes as a bonus, so would it not make more sense to do the following?:
- make insignia a sub-cat of armor bonus rather than have it in there individually and
- make runes a sub-cat of armor bonus since it is mentioned in the article or
- remove the armor bonus category (since it contains the same links as the insignia category anyways) even if u had to rework the article a bit

- I would vote for removing them from the the "armor bonus" category, since they are not really inherent anymore (as far as i know, they were changed long ago, true?). Also, since they work esentially in the same way as runes, Category:Insignia seems fine (which would be consistent with the way runes are categorized).--Fighterdoken 17:16, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Well insignia is a tangible item, whereas the armor bonus is not. Because the insignia articles cover both it leads to that categorization. - BeX 05:55, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- huh? the insignia article doesn't even have the words "armor bonus" in it. it has "upgrade components." or do u mean the individual articles? anyways, if u want to keep the armor bonus category, would it not make sense to put runes as a sub-category since the article specifically lists runes as an armor bonus? basically, i'm saying that it doesn't make sense to have a category which is populated by the same set of articles as another category. the way we can differentiate them is to place runes in armor bonus or remove armor bonus.
- another solution is to delete runes from the armor bonus article. the way i currently read the article is that the "bonus" refers to any modifications on top of unmodified armor. the way u seem to see it is that the "bonus" is an actual armor level addition. if that's the case, runes should be removed from the article b/c they don't increase armor level. --VVong|BA 14:57, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- Armor bonus is added stats on top of basic armor, so yes, runes give an armor bonus too. - BeX 23:26, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- They should also both be a sub-cat of upgrade components too, if they already aren't. - BeX 00:02, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
