I don't know what the icons and indicators for boons and conditions will look like in the game. I've seen a few demo videos, but nothing of high enough resolution to get a good look at either if they were present. Regardless, if the boon and condition icons and indicators look anything like what is found on the GW2 Wiki, then my suggestion is to use complimentary colors for the icons and indicators.

Referring back to the icons found on GW2 Wiki, the boons are orange and the conditions are red. These colors are too close together to easily distinguish one from the other. If, instead, the boons were green and the conditions remained red, it becomes easy to tell at a glance whether someone you're looking at in the game is under the effect of a boon or a condition. You might have to look a little more closely at the graphic on the icon or indicator to decipher which boon or condition it is; but at least with a color-coding scheme one can tell very rapidly whether it's a boon or condition.

I realize that characters and enemies within the game will turn a different color, have some kind of boon or condition specific animation or aura around them, or both to indicate which boon or condition is affecting them. But in a party window where you may not have a party member in line-of-sight and only an icon to indicate which boon or condition they're experiencing, it would be helpful to use complimentary color coding.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to delete or archive this suggestion if it has already been implemented or some other mechanic exits for clearly diffentiating boons from conditions such that it renders this suggestion irrelevant. Guild Wars 3 perhaps 20:24, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
