The Issue[edit]

When the equipment packs were added in the anniversary update it gave some much needed extra space on the actual character; in this case it was made for weapons and armor; for me it made it easier to hold extra weapons I wished to take with me. While it was good having the different sizes depending on the situation, one thing I did notice; for me anyway; was that I was most likely only going to buy one Small Equipment Packs for a starter on a character and then save up zaishen coins for either the Large Equipment Pack or the Heavy Equipment Pack (more likely the former), which made the Light Equipment Pack more or less useless.

While I realize that the packs can be sold to other players making it possible to buy each pack in order and make a bit of money when the pack was no longer required, personally I found that I wasn't getting enough coins to be able to afford to buy them in this way. This is partly because I only play PvE and not the more rewarding PvP side of the Zaishen Quests (specifically the part about them being repeatable) as well as the fact I don't have hard mode unlocked on two of the games.

Solutions[edit]

The solution I came up with to solve this problem was to make it possible to upgrade the pack at the Zaishen Coin collectors possibly for the difference in cost between the two packs; as shown below; or maybe a slightly higher cost, although the former is preferred.

Example[edit]

Name Cost Upgrade Cost From Previous Size
Small Equipment Pack 250 Copper Zaishen Coin 100 Gold none
Light Equipment Pack 500 Copper Zaishen Coin 250 Gold 250 Copper Zaishen Coin 150 Gold
Large Equipment Pack 2,500 Copper Zaishen Coin 850 Gold 2,000 Copper Zaishen Coin 600 Gold
Heavy Equipment Pack 7,500 Copper Zaishen Coin 2 Platinum 350 Gold 5,000 Copper Zaishen Coin 1 Platinum 500 Gold
