While this might have some utility, I don't think it's a strong enough idea anymore to be seriously considered. resolution = withdrawn .

Mapquest ™[edit]
Characters with master cartography titles should have an inherent advantage navigating over those without the title. For other characters, players shouldn't have a disadvantage because they are dyslexic or have trouble reading maps (especially GW maps).
Master Cartographer advantages[edit]
Characters with Master Cartographer have the following abilities within the relevant campaign:
- In an explorable area: shift-clicking any location on the world map adds a yellow-dotted line leading from the current location. The path is not a Geodesic; it's merely the AI's best guess at the shortest distance. It is unable to help with Necrotic Traversal, Shadow Steping, or Vine Seed routes.
- In any area: shift-clicking on the mission-map adds a yellow-dotted line leading from the current location.
Account conveniences after completing campaigns[edit]
If it's easy to implement, these conveniences should apply to all characters for which Hard Mode has been unlocked on a relevant campaign. Otherwise, they should apply to as many toons and campaigns as would be easy to implement (using a single filter for all conveniences).
- Map Travel: typing the command /walk [outpost] brings up the world map and highlights the destination outpost, the intermediate outposts required to reach the destination, and the explorable zone names connecting them. It need not be the fastest path and it would not be expected to show restrictions (quests, missions, etc.).
- Mission/Bonus: typing the command /missionpath or /bonuspath brings up the world map and highlights the final destination for the mission or bonus respectively. Although many missions require multiple way-points, these would not be displayed (unless incredibly simple to implement).
Notes[edit]
- Since routes would probably be iteratively determined (one compass diameter at a time), a status message should display, X of Y iterations completed, where Y is the number of as-the-crow-flies compass diameters between current and destination and X is the number of iterations completed. In many situations (e.g. Maguuma and Arborstone areas), X might be larger than Y.
