While the dishonor system does have some advantages (RA was kinda dumb when every team without a monk lost at least one member before the match started), there are some issues with it. Specifically, there are some situations where leaving the match should not give you dishonor points.

  • When someone on your team has already left. Especially in Random Arenas, if someone on your team leaves it puts your team at a pretty big disadvantage. Most of the time the remaining three people simply resign, but sometimes you get people who won't, and waste your time with a match you're very unlikely to win. In FA/JQ, since there are 8 people, losing one isn't as big of a disadvantage, so you could consider making the requirement to not receive dishonor points for leaving to be a quarter of your team.
  • When the match has started and someone on your team still hasn't loaded. This can be caused by several situations. The person could have never played RA before on the computer they're playing on and need to load the whole map. They could also have a very slow internet connection, in which case, even if they do load, they may be too laggy to be of much help, and it may be too late in the match to make a difference. Lastly, the person could have left or disconnected immediately before the timer in the previous match, in which case they will not load. Regardless, this again puts your team at a pretty heavy disadvantage. Furthermore, as long as one person hasn't loaded, even if the remaining three team members resign, the game seems to not recognize the team's resignation for another minute or two.
  • When all but one team member is dead in RA. Occasionally, when three of the team's four members have died, the fourth member will be doing one of the following: Running (simply fleeing from all the members of the other team in an attempt to prolong the match as long as possible and waste both team's time), or they may be running a build designed specifically to keep themselves alive. These builds don't contribute to the team at all, as the person running it has very little damage-dealing capacity and can't keep teammates alive, but in some situations can prolong the match until time runs out. Teammates are often reluctant to report these people for leeching, since even though they don't contribute to the team, they are moving around and using skills, and this just ends up wasting 7 people's time.
