Awwww... How sentimental... I actually REALLY like this idea! Anything that involves the pre-searing characters we've come to love being captured by the Charr and surviving through their terrible brutality just makes for an incredible, moving story. Ok, part of my idea is Nick discovering that he is WRONG! That Mary is still alive, when he believed that she was dead. All the in-game information I have seen about Mary's fate comes from Nick. In all the hours that I've explored Tyria I've never found Mary's ghost wandering around somewhere or seen Mary's Grave (FYI I don't consider the wiki to be a canon source of in game lore). Lots of people survived the searing, and we know the charr take prisoners. So unless someone can prove it to me otherwise, as far I'm concerned Mary could still be alive.--Copper Legray 23:58, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

Even if the devs considered having Mary reappear somehow, in a ghastly fashion or otherwise, I personally believe we don't need more clichés. Nicholas, despite being a weird loner, has his charm. He's travelled far and wide with his trustworthy companion, and the lonely sadness should be respected, and not filled up with fake romance. He's not bitter, he's a lived man!
