Feedback talk:User/Erasculio/Replacing energy potions
Some classes may have skills that recharge Energy, but on a long cooldown.--Knighthonor 02:06, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
I don't understand the point of removing e-management. That was one of the things that made GW unique and removing it from GW2 just seems to push it closer to generic MMOs. Karate Jesus 02:08, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- I like my Signet of Energy idea better, but I must admit this keeps the feel of long-term energy management (and "oh god do I pop the potion now or do it after this fight? Will I have enough to make it to the boss? I hope an orb drops...") much more intact than my idea did. I'd be happy with this as a replacement system. My favorite part is how the orbs are limited to a small number every time you go outside, so the devs can balance dungeons knowing exactly how many "boosts" they can expect players, on average, to get.
- Karate Jesus, they've already told us, repeatedly, why energy management is being removed/toned down in importance. In PvE, it was a binary "you either have enough e-management or you don't" system with little room for players to tell whether they did well or not, it wasn't terribly interesting (push this button every 60 seconds or you can't play your build, for most classes), GW2 will have a LOT more to think about in the short-term without also having to worry about energy management constantly, and it allowed them to turn energy into a long-term resource, something that GW1 was sorely lacking (save for DP, which they're also removing for other reasons). I agree with these reasons, I just think the potion system as it is currently implemented is pretty bad and they're looking for ways to improve it. Skyy High 18:32, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
"Clicking on that icon gives you X% of your energy back". Why doesn't just fill up the Energy bar completely?
And can I use some parts of this idea if I decide to make my own suggestion? I have a good concept, but then I saw this "orbs" thing which works really well in considerating both gameplay and economy balance (since it can be sold from NPCs). Morcotulcon 01:11, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
This idea knocks a lot more strategy into the game. If positioning is a massive feature in GW2, I would take this over potions anyday. - Infinite - talk 15:00, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
