Feedback talk:User/Getefix/GW2 Luxon + Kurz replacements
There already are factions going on - humans vs charr, asura vs slyvari. Then you have the unofficial people who still refer to themselves as K/L even though they're gone. Previously Unsigned 23:38, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- Though I will miss being K/L –alistic 00:11, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
- Are there any sources that state the factions will have an effect on the gameplay (not just lore)? --Arngrim 01:48, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
saying that the races will replace factions is rubbish - its stated that the guilds accept all races so that idea contradicts a known fact
- I wasn't talking about guilds. Previously Unsigned 07:04, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
- What the hell?! The point is that the FIVE nations join together; how could it possibly be Charr vs Human and Asura vs Slyvari? What, so the Norn, the people who fight for fun are just going to sit this one out? NO. It's been stated that the five races are in a temporary agreement for a cease-fire while they defeat the uber dragon(s).
- I do like the suggestion of the corrupt vs the pure and stuff, but i think it would cause too many problems to keep changing landscape every few minutes, due to the no monthly fee. I think corrupt vs pure would work really well in PvP and GvG scenarios, but not as a permanant "we're a corrupt guild" because realisticly, you would be killed in every "neautral" town you went to because EVERYONE would want to kill you (as apposed to just the opposite faction). As previously mentioned, the whole idea is that the races are banded together. Having different factions is a shit idea. The whole point is we're all friends (for now). MadSkillz1o1 20:36, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Theres also the fact that players themselves will implement the racial faction system, knowing full well that there will spring up factions that only accept main-characters of a said race. Most likely they will pit against other races. This would be a completely player-upheld "faction" system.--Neithan Diniem 16:03, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
The main point of GW2 is that players are now working together towards a common goal, having separate factions would move away from this. There is the 3 neutral factions that a player must pick and also WvW though. - Redean 04:16 UTC 13 June 2010
It is better off if a Canthan or Elona expansion did this instead. Guild Wars 2 is about unity not separation. It would be stupid if they did something like this. Even the dragon allegiance idea is really stupid.--Miteshu 23:15, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
Personally, I found the Luxon/Kurzick divide more annoying than anything. I didn't bond particularly strongly with either side and I found the occasional town/merchant/etc. limitations tedious. If anything like this was implemented, I'd prefer it was completely temporary (as in you fight for Kurz for this game/match/mission and you fight for Lux that game/match/mission). Storywise it also didn't quite fit with the sense that your character was this great hero who sort of rose above minor squabbles to save the world and then arbitrarily joined into the squabbles anyway. --Deafblindmute 05:55, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Sorry Dougal Keane[edit]
This idea pretty much destroyed everything you worked for. I am sorry for the death of Vala, Riona, Killeen, Dak, Marga, and Kranxx is in vain because of this idea.--Miteshu 17:04, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
