This is a useful feature, and I had submitted a support ticket earlier inquiring if this was already available. I have several friends that I would love to bring over to GW2 for roleplay purposes, but this feature has to exist in order to log those RP sessions. Added to my watch list. - Yeah, I reckon it might have advantages, and it's not that hard to code, but I guess it could only be a low-priority thing. (And screenshot or didn't exist! - .txt files aren't good enough) Gelei (talk) 11:07, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Second Life has that feature. Every chat is saved to the users local system with a seperate file for each group or person you have ever had a chat with. And yes. It could be very useful in GW too, but arguably not as proof of anything at all. --Manassas 11:25, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- I came looking to suggest this, but since it's already here, I won't make a duplicate. This should definitely exist, though, there are lots of times I need to save a long chat log for whatever reason and end up having to take 3+ screenshots to get it all. –Jette 04:13, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- It's a nice feature and is easy to implement. Although not everyone will find it useful, those who need to remember things said (possibly months in the past) will appreciate this feature greatly. It is something I have come to expect from instant messaging programs, why not this too?--Natearn 18:20, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- In an administrative level, this could be the end of AC trollings and the perfect tool to stop Alliance Chat verbal abuses by sending such files straight to ANet to ban kids/teenagers. But private messages need to be protected otherwise each side of a talk will lose confidencial trust. It would be handy in an announcement could pop on the AC saying: talks are being recorded to warn users to refrain from flaming more an already burning fight from a guild were neither leader or officers are online atm. And of course a way to backtrack the talks to the inicial spark that started it all. Yoshida Keiji talk 08:01, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
