Weebl, weebl... I'm sure I remember that name from somewhere. Is the guy who made that one flash porno where you can skull-fuck the biker chick? That was totally awesome. –Jette 06:26, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

I don't really watch flash porn, I was just saying it because it sounded hardcore and served as a contrast to a harmless link to something adorable. I'm a pathological liar, you see. I can't even tell when I'm lying anymore. You clearly have more experience in this area than I do. –Jette 09:56, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Are you telling me there is seriously a flash out there where you can pull out somebody's eyeball and attempt to have sexually misuse the wound? Because if so I'm totally finding it. –Jette 10:57, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Sweet Mercy[edit]

Does this mean you're coming back to this wiki? If it does, then I'm coming back too, your trolling is the best I've ever seen. -- Tha Reckoning User- Tha Reckoning Another Sig.png 01:56, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

No. I've started playing on and off again because solo farming can be kind of fun, but that's about it. I didn't really "leave" the wiki or anything, I just don't post as much because people aren't fun anymore, and my watchlist is considerably smaller than it was, which means that I don't get pinged for it much. I might consider coming back if ANet replaced Dhuum's scythe with a glowing green guitar and made him play heavy metal, but short of that there's not much left in the game.
Furthermore, I don't troll people, I just have a tendency to make them angry because I'm a huge narcissistic jerk. Trolling is doing stupid crap like posting a batshit fundie "fags burn for eternity" message on a support forum for gay teenagers. I just get a rise out of my intellectual inferiors my deadpanning whatever I think will most offend them. I've stopped doing this online as much, because people will actually ban you for it, whereas in real life people just get all huffed up while their face tightens into this hideous little expression of self-righteous indignation that looks like they're going to shit a cudgel. –Jette 02:16, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
Damn. Speaking of video games, have you played Team Fortress 2? If so, how is it? -- Tha Reckoning User- Tha Reckoning Another Sig.png 04:03, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
That's kinda trolling by definition. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 04:30, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
No, I hate video games. –Jette 05:07, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure if I believe that, Jette. -- Tha Reckoning User- Tha Reckoning Another Sig.png 01:43, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
With the exception of stupid ones that don't let you, like GW, I've never "played" a video game in my life, aside from some of those ancient, addictive flash-type games like space invaders, and the ones that have really original concepts like Portal. I've always cheated. On the rare occasion I found a game that didn't include cheats, I just used a RAM editor. I get games for their stories, not to play them. I turn on every advantage I can think of and steamroll my way through everything to save time and frustration. GW is an obvious exception here, the story is of the quality you'd expect from a below-average fanfiction.net writer, but other than that I only did it to see what the story was about. That's why I avoid most popular video games: they're all about gameplay, the stories range from nonexistent to atrocious Tom Cruise potboilers. It's also why I enjoy a lot of older video games that have good stories: basically anything from Black Isle, a number of the Final Fantasy games but most prominently 6 & 7, Vampire: Bloodlines, etc. There are a select few games I enjoy for their play value, like Guild Wars before Eye of the Spotted Hyena's Spermy Nutsack, but it's not common. –Jette 03:02, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
I thought Final Fantasy 9 had a pretty good story line, too. (Plus I <3 Zidane.) None of them are really bad, but 7 and 9 really stand out to me. I didn't play 6 until after the rest of the series, so it didn't have much of a powerful effect on me. 50.99.184.225 03:43, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
Right. Also, I lol'd at Eye of the Spotted Hyena's Spermy Nutsack, and I wonder what kind of twisted place your mind is to come up with some of this stuff. I'm getting nostalgic, brb making a top 10 video games list. -- Tha Reckoning User- Tha Reckoning Another Sig.png 00:13, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
I grew up in a backwards-ass redneck state where there were only about six or seven TV channels. Channel 4 has Jerry Falwell espousing the evils of pleasure while telling people to call the toll-free number and donate via credit card, while channel 5 has some faceless asshole greasing up his dick while telling people to give him a ring and donate for him to keep going. Most of my childhood was spent zoning out on prescription Ritalin and Vicodin while listening to tracklists that alternate between songs about cocaine and prostitutes. I'm no psychologist, but I suspect that has something to do with it. –Jette 04:49, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Yeah, for most of my childhood I only had one channel, it was 7, and it sucked. I was really sheltered, I didn't get to play outside until I was 9, etc. I won't say that it was nearly as bad as yours, but growing up in east Texas is some boring shit. -- Tha Reckoning User- Tha Reckoning Another Sig.png 16:32, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

I loved my childhood. I thought nothing was wrong with it, it's only in retrospect that I realize most people would consider it demented. –Jette 16:34, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) You should browse /v/ then (assuming you don't already) since they hate video games too. Pjwned 07:48, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Don't stick messages up in the middle like that, it makes it hard to find. I haven't been to 4chan since... late 2007, I would say, and even then I never browsed /v/. The site sucked then, and I think it's fair to assume it sucks now. –Jette 13:21, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Official forum suggestions[edit]

I had an idea to incorporate the feedback suggestions into the official Guild Wars forum. As you and a a small group of others love to suggest things, and the feedback space pretty much dead, it would be a better place to get our ideas visible and a better fit than the wiki. I posted a a topic here, https://forum.guildwars.com/forum/forums/web/Would-it-be-possible-to-incorporate-Wiki-s-suggestions-into-the-forum and if I could get your support, thanks! I think the idea will go nowhere but if enough agree maybe their stance will change or they can humor us! What do we have to lose!? Previously Unsigned 00:59, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Several ANet employees have stated that they read the suggestion space daily or near-daily. I'm not one to take people at their word, especially people acting in the official capacity of their job, but since a number of suggestions do make it into the game, I suspect that they're telling the truth. Adding it to a forum would only make it more difficult to manage, as well as open the floodgates to every random idiot spouting his ideas. The feedback space is mostly dead, as well it should be — so long as any ANet employees are reading it, the fewer people who are not me posting their terminally retarded ideas, the better. I don't claim all of my ideas are perfect, but some of them are, and I'd rather them not be drowned out by bad ones. More importantly, a large number of suggestions could preceded the staff not bothering to read suggestions anymore, in much the same way that the staff don't respond to their talk pages much: the moment you acknowledge you're reading something, the other 10,000 people who want to talk to you all take the opportunity. –Jette 01:18, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for reading even though you disagree (I though you would). It's more about having a more visible place to post things, yes everything. I honestly don't think everybody would go buck wild seeing as the game is so old, and I partially explained in that link that if something somebody suggests gets a lot of support, they can try those first. Moving it to the forums is also about increased visibility from supports of anything. There can be a 1000 suggestions, with a couple with a lot of posters or supporters. Around here, basically everything is unsupported. Previously Unsigned 02:12, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Impersonal personal attacks[edit]

re: this post at Talk:Guide to modifying in-game graphics‎

I know you love ruffling feathers using highly evocative and harsh hyperbole, but your recent post goes too far. I would appreciate it if you would update it to something that gets the point across without reading like the latest supremacist hate blog. I'm sure you know which particular bits to rephrase because, behind all that rhetoric, you're obviously a good and thoughtful writer; I have no doubt you chose those particular metaphors.

I ask you to change these things because I don't want to see discussions derailed by outside issues. (If I was seriously offended or thought you meant half of it, I'd ask the admins to act.) Thanks. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 23:38, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Oh, fine... I'll fix it up in a minute, let me finish my dinner. –Jette 00:00, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Hmmn. That, as you must know, barely addresses the issue, even though it's hard to point out any specific faux pas. (Plus, you nerfed whatever idea you were trying to convey.) (Unfortunately, I must confess that I cracked up reading the new text.)
If you really need 128 words to say, "dude: tell him to make it open source", then I guess you prefer to make a splash than to make a point. (I hope dinner was tasty.)Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:43, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Actually, I'm just bored and looking to make waves, however small. Moreover, I gave up on making points years ago when I realized nobody cares. I haven't been able to move my legs in more than six hours, and I'm beginning to worry I've had one of those medical things where you should call a doctor. It's also possible I've been abducted by aliens. I really rather hope it's the latter, as I could make a fortune off some cheesy book about the experience with some lame title like "7 minutes among the stars." I've read a bunch of those during my long airplane flights: "90 minutes in heaven." "8 minutes in hell." "Become a master of inducing female orgasm in 30 seconds." "I was a catholic vampire satanist wiccan mason templar druid, but then I found Jesus." That last one was particularly amusing, as the author was apparently all of these things at the same time. What I thought was to be mindless proselytizing turned out to be a passionate, emotional work reflecting on the duality of the human spirit, conflicting personal beliefs, the power of faith, and a journey from darkness into... well, something. I think maybe he mixed up LDS with LSD. –Jette 01:02, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
After some further meditation (acid!) on the matter, I've come to the rational, not-at-all-Freudian conclusion that my anger towards closed-source developers is a projection of my displeasure with ANet, and their refusal to release Guild Wars' code base to the community even after they shut it down. I guess they're hoping to make a profit off suckers who buy the game after it's switched off. To their credit, they say they won't turn it off until everyone's had their share. My emotionless rage is misdirected because I can't scream at ANet, because gas is too expensive to visit in person, and if I do it on the forum they'll just throw me out of the test group (again). –Jette 12:45, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Emotionless rage ? ;-) You have good cause to be annoyed with ANet and freeware developers who eschew open source (although I also see their point of view). I'm just asking that you not take it out on the wiki.
Alas, filling up a suggestion thread with your (often entertaining) free-verse and/or stream-of-consciousness poetry doesn't get you what you want (open source, ANet rethinking balance, etc.) and it prevents others from contributing usefully (if, for no other reason than it crowds out other voices). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:55, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Well, you can delete it if you want, I don't really care. –Jette 21:54, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I've done that and retained the suggestion. I hope that is an okay result. If that alters your intent more than you like (or that I intended), please revert/restore and we can go from there. Thanks for working with me on a compromise (and, yeah, making me laugh, too).
Given the nature of the dev's project, the number of people eager to help, and people's understandable concern that others vet the code they are downloading...I don't understand his (her) reluctance to at least display the code. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:04, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
