A short extension of this would be to have a "server message channel" or something like that (which GW probably already has) for that stuff, just have the button on the chat window to hide it. This would not only hide the rings messages, but other messages players usually ignore, like "You have been playing for 48 hours, please go outside." ~Shard 02:27, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- I suspect Anet for legal reasons cannot make the "you have played x hours" message toggable. Thus for this suggestion to be implemented they would have to split server messages into two separate channels. That said, I would love to be able to filter out some of the server messages. --Lensor (talk) 10:57, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
Most system messages should be filterable[edit]
I believe ANet should provide filters for any messages (unless required by their Legal dept): accomplishments, drops, skill points, tickets won, and even quest and mission dialogue (after the Nth time in Imperial Sanctum, I don't need to listen to Shiro give his Dr Evil impersonation again.) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:30, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
