An increase in total amount of gold/platinum one can have in GW2 would be welcomed by many, myself included (though I personally have never actually reached the cap).--Will Greyhawk 15:19, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

The problem with GW1 is that there is no gold drain on the economy. Their trying to remedy that by making a couple things cost a small amount of cash in GW2. This so far includes minigames (Im assuming for the games like the archery shootout), map travel, and waypoint-resurrection. Added up, your using a sizable bit of money. However, of you play well and efficiently, you'll find that wealth probably wouldn't be any harder to achieve. I wouldn't doubt that there will be plenty of ways to gain wealth in the game other than coins, along with plenty of ways to store wealth in general. Simply expanding the coin purse you can hold and store isn't going to be needed in my opinion.--Neithan DiniemUser Talk:Neithan Diniem 20:09, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
In GW1 we have ectos, armbraces, etc. It isn't exactly currency but Guild Wars developers once said the gold cap was to discourage inflation. --Life Infusion «T» 00:30, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
