Feedback talk:User/RedTeaCat/Rarely Used Elite Skills (Ranger)
Before I forget, I've only read wilderness so far most are good but the famine prep is very OP, say you have just enough for 3 energy loss then pack a handful of interrupts, playing well you can force a monk to run out of energy after 3 interrupts and 1 auto attack. It'll make rangers popular but not in the way most would hope. Requiring an enchanted target isn't that hard a condition to meet. Ok marksmans is the only other I have an issue with the possible energy gain is huge with its scaling and no "penalty" for taking dumb shots this rewards bad play (eg firing blind) lower the loss to 5 and it'll be fine. Also little worried about infuriating heat, it might be a little bit too strong but that's a hard one for me to call. Also you forgot Poison Arrow Weaponmaster 07:52, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
My biggest problem is the argument: Expertise, who needs e-management. Okay the Ranger has expertise but this attribute is no guarantee that you'll never run out of energy. Lou Wolfskin 08:39, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- ok, maybe op to HB monks, but HB monks are also op. Changed it to casting foes || Did I say Expertise guarantee Rangers never run out of energy? And would you really choose Scavenger's Focus or Ferocious Strike?--Tea Cat ._. 09:25, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- Uhm, yes, actually i like Scavenger's Focus and i played with Ferocious Strike a few times as well. Maybe they are not the best builds but at least Scavenger's Focus guarantes some good energy-management with skills like Needling Shot while using Apply Poison or Barbed Arrows. 92.203.63.32 16:59, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- Scavenger's Focus can be fun for secondary rangers too. Rypofalem 16:07, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Rangers might run out of enrgy sometime, but it's really not a problem for most. Energy management on a ranger might not mean much, but on a secondary it can be quite effective. Scavenger's Focus doesn't really need high spec, conditions are not that hard to come by, it's not removable and doesn't take your stance slot. Warriors used warrior's endurance for half those reason, another bonus is that it works if you wand a foe too, not saying that the most practical method but it works. if this was in expertise then yeah it but pointless but since it's in a line where other profession can use it, then it can be with that idea in mind, --70.48.53.213 21:06, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- I thought elites should work for the pirmary prof, not secondary...--Tea Cat ._. 14:17, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- Ah that's why Assassins with Deadly Paradox like to use Lyssa's Aura or Signet of Judgement and i believe there are monks using Melandru's Resilience too. But yeah, you're right, Elites should work for the primary, not the secondary-class. Lou Wolfskin 18:16, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Waste of my time... especially the condition elite are pretty inbalanced. I don't agree a single skill. --Kali Shin Shivara 02:23, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
Quicksand and Infuriating Heat I think would be fine just by reducing the casting time (IH is already used anyway). Maybe Greater Conflagration could go down to 2 to? Likewise, Quick Shot would also be fine with just a small amount of +dmg or armour penetration tbh, the fast activation and projectile speed already make it nice, it's just not good enough for an elite. As for the other suggestions, there are some nice ideas, but some of them make little logical sense, like Equinox as a trap? 188.74.101.228 02:39, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Wow[edit]
One look at your suggestions for Scavenger's Focus was enough to see exactly how awful your suggestions are. Weakness on a Ranger? Another RaO-esque skill? Are you out of your bloody mind? Dark Morphon 16:19, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
- Weakness is a inferior condition, whats the big deal? Scavenger's Focus is really sux right now, maybe you like the current version. As I said the 0...1070...1337 could be lowered. Just providing some ideas.--TeaCat._. 07:09, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
