that sort of technology is barely viable today, let alone at an industrial revolution equivalent max. Although it could arguably done with asura tech or magic. I would say it's too silly/gimmicky for my tastes, obviously that's subjective. Furthermore, whist all classes do have ranged weapons, i don't think they should be forced to use them. This is terrible. Its unbalanced, as other professions don't have an equivalent, its well outside what kind of technology is available lore wise, and finally Arenanet has stated (multiple times!) that there will be no flying in Guild Wars 2.--Will Greyhawk 00:25, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Flight and air supremacy is considered a route towards complete tactical domination. You choose your targets, you choose when and where to engage, and finally you have an uncounterable form of egress from combat. Unbalanced.
