Could have a weird effect on the dye market.--Will Greyhawk 05:13, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Dye Market[edit]

You are right, it would have an effect on the Dye market; I think it would expand it. Not only would you have people selling Dye that they pick up from drops, you will have people selling Dye from salvaging them when they want to change armor color. It could have the potential of lowering the value of Black and White Dyes, but that would only be if there were more people selling them (if it remains the same, there really would be no change). Would it matter? Right now the economy is balanced around the value of ectoes not black dyes so it would have little impact the trades whatsoever. There was such an item in the past called Dye Remover but got removed during the dye system change, readding it with the function to salvage dyes would be nice. Well rather than being sold to a merchant it would be more ideal for a consumable trader requiring 100g a skill point and tempered glass vial to craft (the dye needs to go into something), having 5-10 uses would be best. Like the design of the perfect salvage kit would have on the rune/insignia market it would have less impact on the dye market. Da Mystic Reaper 16:09, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
It would only matter as far as those wanting to sell black dye in the trade chat. Other than that, it would not have any effect at all. User Silken Prism silkn prism.png 17:35, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

Gold Sink[edit]

Anet probably intend dye to be a gold sink, rather like identification and salvage kits. If that's the case I can't see them letting you salvage the dye again. Also from a lore/reality perspective it wouldn't really make sense, even when you can wash the dye out of fabric it's not reuseable. 109.145.208.77 21:15, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
