Feedback talk:User/Slman1/Guild Recruitment Board
Excellent idea. The recruiting spammage in the major cities is annoying enough. A simple search function like this would drastically improve the way guilds could recruit members, or even for people to search for a suitable guild if it worked both ways. I would also suggest that members have to pay to join for themselves, instead of the guild leader. This way, members will not likely switch guilds so often (guildhoppers), but might stick around to see if this guild is really what they want, and then make their choice. Now, it seems, people don't care, and just leave without a word, while some leader has gone through the trouble of recruiting them plus paying for them too (even if it is just 100g, it's the idea that matters). That is a good point, with this system, not only would guilds gain members more efficiently, less guilds would fall apart like they do now in Guild Wars 1.
- This is a good idea, but that board is going to be so cluttered with crap the chances of your guild being seen are nil. And the main reason for guilds falling apart now in GW1 is guild hoppers and inactivity due to the game's age. Not much can be done about either. Nay the One and Only 09:57, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
You are right that it would be unlikely to see certain guilds, however if there were some sort of filter such as number of players in a certain guild, perhaps when the guild was formed, alphabetical by name, and guild leader / officers. This would make it so that if a player likes a small guild they can join one with a lower player base or however they like. Also the fact that the GW1 is older does contribute to the fact that guilds fall apart, but another reason is that in order to recruit more people a guild officer or leader needs to stand in a city and spam "Funny, friendly, lux," whatever over and over.--Adonnis Loannis 00:59, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
On the idea itself I think allowing people to quickly find recruiting guilds and sign up and once accepted pay a small amount of gold (such as the equivalent to the 100g entry) as an entry fee to be an exhilarating idea! Also the chance is not naught to be seen because there will be countless amount of people viewing several guilds at a time -- Magican talk 09:05, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
