Rarer crafting materials[edit]
I'd argue that rarer/location-specific crafting materials (ectos, rubies, etc) should also be gold. Ectos from banshees should be green. -- Armond Warblade 18:54, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
- More nuances would be better, but I thought I'd offer something simpler, so that it's more likely to be implemented by the small team of GW1 devs.
- Rubies and sapphires have boosted in trade value, but they can be found often in Hidden Treasures, i.e. they aren't really location specific. (Plus: geode-farming.)
- Ecto and Obbi-shards can only be farmed reliably in two places, so they should be a special color. Green isn't a bad choice, but they could be the blue or red currently used uniquely by rock candy (which probably should all be the same color).
- Similarly, special items that don't drop should probably be a different color than items that do. For example, Medals of Honor, Ministerial Decrees, could be Silver, like Silver Zoins (or red or blue).
- Short story: it would be better if ANet normalized the entire rarity color scheme, but I'm happy if they start simple and just make it easy to quickly identify drops that are more valuable than Composite Bows. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:33, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
- I actually meant to imply that ectos were location-specific and rubies were rarer, but mixed up my respectivelies. Whoops.
- I'm a little afraid that too many colors would be overwhelming, but I do think it's a good idea to have a special color for important reward tokens.

I agree[edit]
I agree Tennessee I think this is a long over due update that is needed i can tell you how many times we have all seen "I am targeting Lockpick" because someone in the party overlooked it since the whites are easy to miss (Mr Killolgy 17:04, 24 February 2012 (UTC))
- Thank you. (PS Tennessee is the stately adjective modifying the name, Ernie Ford, but most ppls call me, TEF.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:09, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
