Typo[edit]

I think you are missing a number in the clause "AR 8 (for AR 16 shields) and AR otherwise.": AR what otherwise? User Judas Sig.pngudas 22:08, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Fixed! (Thanks!) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 22:10, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
In any case, my personal suggestion would just be to change all shields to 8 if the req is not met and all foci to 6. No messing with tables or differences. Of course, it does seem a little counter-intuitive for an AR16 shield to give the same amount of armor as an AR12 shield if their requirements are not met. Half is a good solution too. And that's the most widespread myth already :). User Judas Sig.pngudas 22:14, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
I don't really care how they fix it (should I rephrase so it's more obvious that I've offered an example rather than ask for a specific solution)? I'm bothered by the unnecessary inconsistency and the inability to even offer us a simple rule of thumb to use. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 22:51, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
I know that it was only an example, I was merely adding another example :). Consistency would be nice though. For a change. User Judas Sig.pngudas 00:38, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Yes, please lets these changes be made! I rarely use/weapon swap sets using Foci/Shields directly due to these factors; and indirectly due to issues with logistics.
Speaking of "Logistics": is it too much for anet to fix off-hand swapping so items -always- appear in Equipment-slots, and -not- in Backpack/Bag-slots; particulary when interchanging primary two-handed sets with one-handed/off-handed sets, and vice-versa? --Falconeye 20:45, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for the feedback.
PS I believe that developers have said that the swapping problem is an unintended consequence of other programming choices, but it's worth putting up on a bug note on the official forums.
Also: you can prevent this from happening through the following kludge: ensure that you have enabled the relevant weapons sets. Also make sure that the all weapons that you want to swap are in your equipment pack. Next, make sure that at least one off-hand is equipped for each set (even if there's a two-handed weapon); it doesn't matter if you will be using that off-hand or not. Finally, cycle through the weapon sets F1→F2... Anytime a weapon pops out into inventory, drag it back to the kit bag. Re-cycle. After changing all items, it sometimes takes me two cycles, but after that, I never have to bother, even if I change one or more of the sets. It's annoying, but takes me less than a minute, so I'm willing to live with it. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:52, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
