Feedback talk:User/Tennessee Ernie Ford/Stop moving the targets for the non-moving targets

Oh My God it is so annoying that a good percentage of the time I keep accidentally clicking on my own party members rather than the foes I am trying to target! Why as a warrior should I even have the ability to click on party members! I agree that I should at least be able to disable this ability that would reduce much in-game stress and keyboard abuse. I am all for a way to disable targeting party member! Great idea Cinnamongod 17:22, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your feedback. I can't take credit for the idea. Susan at Guild Wiki suggested it in her the most annoying things page and I agreed, so I wanted to make sure ANet had a chance to see it, too.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:20, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
The targeting system is one of the things about Guild Wars that I just figured I'd needed practice on. If, after six years, I still haven't gotten the hang of it, that's probably telling (that I'm a bad player =) ). I was contemplating making a suggestion when I saw this one. I can't tell you how many times I'd be quick clicking on Gron Fierceclaw in Doomlore Shrine for chest runs just to accidentally click on the person in front of him and then not running at all. My adaptation grew to always trying to be behind some kind of obstruction so that the only way to click on him was by showing the npc then clicking the label. My thought was that at least as far as towns go, a helpful option would just be to disable selecting of people in town when alt is held. We already have ctrl for that. Not only that, but as you say, when you go to click on something, all those names pop up of the players around it and the target moves. Why?!
I honestly don't know of the perfect solution, but I like the ideas presented here, and just know that even a few little tweaks would go over well. I gave up tabbing through things after the first year, it's just not feasible. I routinely consult other veteran players to see whether there is some trick I'm missing or something in these types of situations, but the consensus is that targeting is frustrating. We're on our knees here, help us! --Axis 07:41, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
