Guild Wars Wiki talk:Elections/2008-08 bureaucrat election/Sum Mesmer Guy
Hi Sum Mesmer Guy. Although PTSS is not an objection to becoming a bureaucrat do you think it is wise to do so? --Silverleaf 07:32, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- PTSS?--Sum Mesmer Guy contribs 09:15, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- i assume you mean Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome. i think that something like that should stop me from doing something that i want to do.--Sum Mesmer Guy contribs 09:21, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
I think Sum Mesmer is a good member of the community. Shame he got hurt in a collision. Hope you recover soon so i can trust you more! --Burning Freebies 13:25, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
This position will do nothing but add to your stress -- in fact, if you want your stress levels to go down, a break from the wiki altogether will do more good. Wikis are, after all, serious businesses. Considering you think emotions are a large part of discretion, that's enough for me to oppose (and that's before adding in the emotional stress you're suffering at the moment). If you aren't prepared for non-constructive criticism, you probably aren't prepared to be an administrator. -- Brains12 \ talk 14:59, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- i didn't say that i'm not prepared for non-constructive criticism, i just made a polite request--Sum Mesmer Guy contribs 17:48, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's just that you made an awful crash and having a trauma from it is very understandable. Your run for bureaucrat isn't hindered by that but i do request you rethink and take care of yourself without the added responsibility of wiki stuff. Your request was polite indeed but maybe you just need to come first in everything you do atm. Without demands from others? --Silverleaf 20:51, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- i am looking after myself, i just pop into the wiki every day a couple times. it's actually one of the things i do to relax--Sum Mesmer Guy contribs 09:21, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- You know Brains, for some of us, wiki'ing is actually somewhat therapeutic :P ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 04:58, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's funny to see Brains12 say that wikis are "serious businesses" when he works so hard to make a mockery out of this one by randomly changing this and that to how he wants them, reguardless of anyone else or anything else, and furhter abuses his power in so many ways. 66.7.210.15 07:11, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- If you have a disagreement with him, talk to him about it, don't make underhanded digs in unrelated discussions. Although, based on what you just wrote, you don't understand the situation well enough to win that argument anyway, so you might as well not comment on it at all. -Auron 07:12, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

What would you say has changed since the last election? *Defiant Elements* +talk 18:53, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- not much has changed on the wiki from my perspective, but IRL, excluding the... messiness of my holiday, a lot has changed for me, especially from the view of my closest friends. Expamle: I have been selected for several school-related positions for the next acedemic year, all of which require maturity, and this was because of the almost unanimous support received from my peers and teachers.--Sum Mesmer Guy contribs 19:58, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
