Guild Wars Wiki talk:Elections/2009-06 bureaucrat election/DominatorMatrix
I havent really seen you in action much. Please could you provide your contrubtutions page? --Burning Freebies 16:41, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- You could have just accessed that page yourself: Special:Contributions/DominatorMatrix. poke | talk 16:44, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
I've never been personally comfortable with most self-nominations, but I can't say I'm particularly active on this wiki or know much about the user in question, so I'll leave my comments at that. (I would, however, also note that not all self-nominations are bad. It's a common belief that wanting an admin or bcrat position should automatically void the option, but police officers aren't chosen to become police officers - they have to desire to attain the position.) ··· cedave 05:54:37 CSUTC 05/11/24
- I may not be terribly active, in the contrib sense but I am still lurking. Bureaucrats don't need to be that active anyways, since there roles are rarely put to use. In that sense I am a better candidate for bureaucrat then sysop. Anyways, there is nothing wrong with self-nominations yes, but they tend to be very unsuccessful compared to being nominated by someone else. Dominator Matrix 23:09, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Questions[edit]
I would just like to ask these questions, if you don't mind.
- Why do you want to be a Bureaucrat and what qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a good Bureaucrat?
- What is your opinion on strictly literal interpretations of policy vs. "spirit of the policy" interpretations?
- How might your decisions in previous ArbComm decisions have differed from those given by the Bureaucrats?
- How would you define the Bureaucrat's role on GWW?
- What is your stance on trolling/disruption/incivility/harmfulness? How is that stance justified given the current status of those issues within our system and culture?
- What do you think the proper role of ArbComm is?
- How might you use the Bureaucrat position differently than other Bureaucrats have?
- In what way(s) would your decisions in arbitration be affected by the weight of a user's general history of valued contributions (or lack of such)? Would user valuable-ness reliably translate into some extra degree of leniency from you? -- §Lacky§ Talk 07:12, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- I don't mind. Unlike the mast majority of people here, your contributing in a good manner.
- I want the Bureaucrat spot because I want to help the wiki deal with problem users. Also to show that I can handle my anger, and :I do take things seriously. My qualities are being neutral, and staying calm (which I cannot stress enough).
- My opinion is that we should follow things by the book, but realize that there is always something that may change it, or cause :us to ignore it.
- I feel that past decisions have been good, and mine would have not differed.
- I would it define it as the peacemakers among the group at GWW. When needed then can come to a decision to end fighting on a equal basis.
- I have no tolerance for trolling/disruption/harmfulness. It has no point here, but I am not going to chase after each one. This :does not mean that I will hunt people down, or ignore certain users. It is justified here at GWW, though it might be too much, so :I am open to changes.
- The proper role for ArbComm is to deal with problem users for a final time.
- I do not feel I will use it differently then the others due to the way its currently handled. Useing it differently may create a :sense of bias towards the users.
- My decisions will be influenced by there past history, with the most common being used. User valuable-ness may come into affect :when needed but us sally when a ArbComm is launched the user is less then valuable. When the time comes will see if I will have :more leniency towards them. Question[edit]
Should the wiki undergo various conflicts that involve time-consuming mediation/ or arbitration, would you be willing to commit a bulk of your time towards solving them?-- BVt 11:10, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, but arbitration is extremely rare on this wiki. Dominator Matrix 18:39, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know, I just wanted to see if you would be willing based on a comment above; thanks!-- BVt 23:38, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- If he weren't willing, I doubt he'd be running as Arbitration and remedying disputes that require ArbComm action, in the rare cases that they do happen, are a major part of being a Bureaucrat. --★KOKUOU★ 19:49, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hey now, I don't even know him; no need to be like that.-- BVt 22:46, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not "being" like anything. I simply stated that because ArbComm and problem solving is a major part of being a Bureaucrat, there really'd be no point in both nominating himself and running if he didn't have the time to dedicate. --★KOKUOU★ 02:11, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
- Your comment was completely unnecessary.-- BVt 02:17, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Withdrawal[edit]
Why the withdrawal, if I may ask? -- §Lacky§ Talk 06:54, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
