Statement[edit]

Why said it best, "Please flabbergasts me with a marvelous, delicious candidate statement so you can have my vote."  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:16, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Looking at Aiiane's contribs could probably do more than a candidate statement, or it would at least complement one. Since Aiiane's been bureaucrat a couple of times before, you could see how she dealt with arbcomm and whatnot, and also see any statements/discussion that she contributed to during the elections she was a candidate in. -- pling User Pling sig.png 18:20, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
Aiiane also has had a history of not accepting or declining nominations, but rather accepting elections if she wins. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 19:07, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
The only nomination she didn't accept or decline was Guild Wars Wiki:Elections/2009-02 bureaucrat election/Aiiane. -- pling User Pling sig.png 19:11, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
Part of a B'crat's job is using words. Although actions speak loudly, I would like to see how candidates view the role and how they express their interest in it. Although I do my best to review contributions, it is far easier if the candidates (or their supporters) take a few minutes to choose the most meaningful posts/threads.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:33, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi TEF. While I've never really been one to write in-depth speeches for bureaucrat elections (you'd probably want to talk to Defiant Elements or Misery for that... :P), let me see if I can find you some resources that would provide a better view of how I approach things. I suppose since the primary difference between serving as a sysop and serving as a bureaucrat is ArbComm, that would be a logical place to start. Of the cases that have been brought up during my previous terms, I've accepted one, abstained from one (in order to minimize any perceived conflict of interest), and declined three (1, 2, 3). My overall view on Arbcomm has always been that its goal is to keep the wiki community running smoothly, and thus it should seek resolutions that accomplish that, in whatever manner is best suited for such a goal. If there is a way to cleanly resolve a problem, it should not need excessive debate; if the problem is not so clear-cut, then it should be talked over.
As far as my views on the individual qualities of a bureaucrat, I believe I addressed that on this previous election discussion page.
If you have any more specific questions you'd like me to address, I'd be glad to do so. Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 00:49, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
This is great. Thank you for including the links.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:26, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
