This looks pretty boring so far.. poke | talk 13:32, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Quality candidate list as per usual... -- My Talk Lacky 14:50, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
I think politics need to stay off of the internet. I bet 80% of people who come to this site don't even care, other than the fact that someone keeps the information up-to-date. I personally don't even know where these people talk in order to gain popularity for this election. --Lustre Of Havoc 19:51, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
As it turns out, your goal of someone keeping the information up-to-date is made easier when there are good people making sure that the community runs smoothly. For consensus-driven sites, that requires some sort of selection process; elections happen to be an easy, time-tested, transparent mechanism for deciding who gets special powers to help things along.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:16, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
But did you really have to go and use the fancy names? Couldn't you just say "Voting for the person in charge"? --Lustre Of Havoc 06:54, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Tbh, the only thing time-tested about this wiki's bcrat elections is that they've been a waste of effort, a waste of time, and a great place to showcase trolling. I'm quite glad GW2W didn't make the same mistake by including an unnecessary, retarded election system. Here's to hoping GWW might catch up someday and abolish these jokes we call bcrat elections.
@Lustre; bureaucrat is just the name used by the Mediawiki software (and is thus familiar for people who work with wikis often). We could change it to Potato if we wanted, but nobody cared enough to do so. -Auron 06:57, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Ah okay, so Mediawiki is the one trying to bring the real world into my fantasy one. Thanks a lot, you killjoys! --Lustre Of Havoc 07:17, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Poketato? -- pling User Pling sig.png 23:17, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
So wait, what's the process of selecting bcrats/sysops/potatoes/whatever on GW2W? razor39999 14:15, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
There is none, and also this is completely unrelated to GWW or this particular election... poke | talk 15:27, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
So people just randomly select someone who's currently kinda popular? Seems pretty fail... But then again so is this. And yeah not really related. razor39999 20:21, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
So far, the only promotions made on GW2W were to carry over GWW/GuildWiki admins. There has been one "request for adminship" (not the same way as it's done here), but there was a lack of community support. As of now, the rfa process is discussion; it hasn't evolved beyond that yet. -- pling User Pling sig.png 13:29, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
