Question(s) for the candidate[edit]

In your candidate statement, you say that you "actually try avoid [user disputes] if possible". But isn't it the responsibility of admins to mediate user disputes? Do you consider getting involved in user disputes as dirty work that you would rather leave for other admins to handle? It's pretty easy to revert vandalism and ban vandals, so are you willing to do the hard work of settling user conflicts or not? Thanks. Loves to Sync 21:19, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

Given that you already opposed, I don't really get why I should even answer you.. But anyway, as I said, I try to avoid them, and will instead focus on other tasks. Avoiding them however doesn't necessarily mean, there will be no single instance of where it will happen (or already happened). As such, I'll definitely "do the hard work" if necessary, although there are definitely other admins that are a lot more capable of dealing with such things.
Also given that there are other admins who specialize on duties, it would be just fair if I can focus on other things as well. And as we have multiple admins who actually do focus on user disputes, I see no problem with myself being a bit more reluctant on that topic. poke | talk 21:48, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
There is not one work "harder" than another. For me, commenting on a policy is very easy and something I like doing. Writing some template would be very hard. And mediating user disputes somewhere in between. For other sysops, it is the other way round. And the wiki profits from the fact that we all concentrate on what we are best at. --Xeeron 22:47, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
