I didn't partake in this event, but it sounded like fun so I just read through the page. I just wanted to give my opinion on some of the clues. The Canthan one that leads to Boreas Seabed doesn't make sense to me. There isn't any amber in the area, is there? I'd think something more like Maatu Keep or Harvest Temple, but that also feels like a stretch. Also, Eyes of the North are in Tyria for sure, the continent and the planet as a whole. The Ancient royal dynasty could be Japan as well as Korea (and China if it was accessible). The Gate of Torment clue is very ambiguous, it seems more like the Gate of Madness more than the rest of the RoT by the clue too. It's kinda guesswork in the whole RoT basically. Thanks for reading [KISS], hope you make a cool event like this next year. ;)--Mango 22:25, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comments Mango.
- 1. The reference to Boreas Seabed was meant to describe the position of the outpost on the map, being on a point precisely where the land and the sea meet. I have to say Cantha was the easiest round of them all. I thought it would pose a challenge to find Boreas, but people were far too clever and were there less than a minute after the riddle was posted.
- 2. It was my decision not to involve any Eye of the North outposts so I stated this clearly in question 4 so people wouldn't get confused. I agree it's technically part of Tyria, but I didn't think it was fair to require Tyrian entrants to have to own 2 game keys to be able to take part.
- 3. You are correct, China, Japan, and Korea all have ancient royal dynasties. The reference in the riddle was to the Joseon Dynasty, which is believed to have been the longest-lived actively ruling dynasty in East Asia. Luckily, however, there is only 1 Asian district currently available (Korea) so people couldn't get it wrong even if they were thinking of China or Japan. I assume there are more Asian districts available to people with a primary territory in Asia, however our alliances consist of people solely America and Europe, who only have access to Korea in 'other options'.
- 4. Agreed, the Gate of Torment was intended to be very difficult - essentially, the previous rounds of the tornament were solved too easy by our clever [KISS] people, so we made it harder for a challenging finale, which people seemed to appreciate :) Tyria was solved in 24 minutes, Cantha in 13 minutes, and the finale round in Elona lasted 25 minutes.
- Thanks again for your feedback, I'm definately planning some more fun events in the weeks/months to come so stay tuned! --Bunny 18:38, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
