Bug tag[edit]
"faster" is used interchangeably in guild wars to mean an increase in speed and a reduction in activation. 100% faster spell activation may mean -100% activation, i.e. instant casting. It not working on skills is a bug, I don't know if instant casting is. Also, if you compare the wording of this to a skill such as Frenzy, that would mean 100% reduction in attack interval -> 0 attack interval and infinite hits per second. I doubt that is what occurs, but all IASs are worded in this way, so tht strikes me as an anomaly, especially considering the way spell activation has been affected. Misery 22:11, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Fix?[edit]
They need to change this to "you attack twice as fast" Technically speaking you would strike for infinity times, which would A. crash the game, or B. Insta kill anything. 125.238.241.40 09:48, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
- no, it would be more like saying you attack 5x per 10 sec, 100% faster would be 10x per 10 sec, which is twice as fast, but saying 100% faster is the same. no need to change anythingAurenX 21:55, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- If you knew anything about other IAS, they all work by multiplying the value by it's attack speed. (If you attack 33% faster, you multiply your attack speed by 0.66). Therefore, if you attack 100% faster, you would attack infinite amounts of time (You multiply your attack speed by 0.)

- You might want to check your math, last time i checked you do 1/IAS*weapon speed >.> check the IAS article if i am wrong, people get that mixed up all the time.... you dont subtract you do the inverse of it to get the actual attack speed instead of the rate of attack (which is 100% faster = 200% as fast as normal = 1/2 the time to attack) ^.^ thanks for listening 24.98.218.93 04:02, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
- actually it's more or less like crit (1-0.XX)*original value where XX is the % change.75.40.53.83 14:41, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah I just looking at the chart (which was around back when this convo started) you can see that the attack speed of spears (1.5sec) becomes 1.005sec with 33% IAS, which is the same as 1.5 x 0.67. So if it was 100% IAS consistent with other skills and effects, it would be instant attacks. Thankfully it isn't.98.237.80.68 00:05, 5 June 2017 (UTC)
