I can haz factuns? — Eloc 23:34, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Vanquish[edit]

old note said 175-210, i vanqued (without active quests, or quests finished) at 162, including some charmable beasts. My guess is that you can vanquish this area with under 150 mobs if you dont pop too many oni. Gl everyone ;-) (KILL MementoMori 12:13, 21 July 2009 (UTC))

171 foes, 51 min, vanq/maping. Pretty much every mob has a rit in it and they all have spirits. Take some aoe to drop the rits/spirits easy. The fish mobs pretty much all have a monk aswell but they will drop easy since this map is 2 vs 1 most of the time. Kappas are lame elementalists but take a while to drop since they have turtle shell skill. The dragon boss mob has the ele aoe dmg in this zone but I was lucky enough to approach his spawn area from the east and just lured him into the chokepoint path and nuked. Lots of physicals here but nothing deadly dangerous. Take more offense and less defense on this map. Justice 19:56, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

203 foes, 34 min. Pretty much what I said 9 years ago. Enough physicals here to warrant blind. Note that the rangers use escape so you will want a way to do stance removals if a martial class. If you have a rit in party with spawning power take signet of binding maybe and domination mesmers with spiritual pain. If you are a spirit spammer then you can steal attack spirits like pain and disenchantment. Dragon boss mob still op but pain inverter does wonders vs him. I took the supplies quest and even got a free locked chest popup. Unfortunately at some point I did the snake head quest so I couldn't add in a free boss kill. Oni spawn points[edit]

I noticed while vanquishing that there were way more than 2 oni spawn points. i observed 5 oni appearances in total. The places i saw them where. behind Ssuns, blessed of Dwayna, 2 on the path from cavalon to breaker hollow, the behind Snapjaw Windschell and finally North of the Luxon arena. Shouldn't that be changed? --Fanatchick 12:55, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Wel since Nobody answered me, i went ahead and changed it.--Fanatchick 07:32, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

stuck[edit]

you can get stuck at arena area

"1k faction in 5-10 minutes"[edit]

Thats terrible. :/ You'd be better off targeting the Ranger, Mesmer, Ritualist and Monk bosses. + even better would be to hero vanquish Mount Qinkai - you'd get 10k in about 10 minutes for a full 140 foes - roughly 7x better than this. Chieftain Alex 08:08, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

Xiriss Stickleback[edit]

I have replaced the quest specific Xiriss in the Boss section, as all other zone pages list these bosses if they have capturable skills and/or unique drops...Xiriss has both. Gwynna Vive (talk) 01:40, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

Which explorable area pages are you speaking of that list these quest bosses that have elite skills and/or unique drops? Because I was under the impression that most of them didn't. --Silver Edge 08:03, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
The Kurzick equivalent Warden of Saprophytes comes to mind. Some others list bosses that do not always appear (Ensign Lumi, Maw the Mountain Heart, Jormungand...to name a few), and/or those that are not present during quests. I'm seeing that several quest objective "boss-like foes" have been removed...likely some time ago, and it is nice to see the wiki is cleaning up pages that are congested with UFI about quest specific foes which have no captureable skill. For bosses though, the 2% morale boost is often useful for strategy in vanquishing, or the bonus faction and those with unique drops (Woe Spreader is a very desireable Necro staff) or those non-core elite skills that are normally obtained from only one boss (such as Discord), it seems to me that they should be listed. I have often left "Night Raiders" and "Temple of the Dredge" unfinished, so that I can get another crack at getting the unique drops while doing the ZQ's "Ssuns, Blessed of Dwayna" and "Mungri Magicbox". They also have provided me with much more faction, than the quest does.
At any rate, if their inclusion is counter to wiki format policy, by all means, revert. It just makes more sense to me that such bosses be listed, and in viewing the history it showed that a batch of NPC were removed at the same time, and I did not know whether that was done without considering the captureable elite, and unique drop of this boss. Gwynna Vive (talk) 20:48, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
So... would you consider those mentioned quests useful for farming? --Falconeye (talk) 01:53, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
Useful for farming the unique item (and in this case faction), yes, but also useful for skill capture (avoiding a "cap" run through Maishang Hills for a Monk, Ritualist or Mesmer in this case) and to recharge rez signets and obtain strategic morale boost for Zaishen Vanquish. Gwynna Vive (talk) 06:48, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
Yeah I recall the formatting guidelines suggest not to list bosses if they only appear with certain quests active. So for example, the Warden of Saprophytes appears without quests active or even started - displayed on article. Xiriss only appears during the quest - and so probably shouldn't be displayed on article. -Chieftain Alex 09:46, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
I see valid points all around...but policy (IMHO) should always take precedence, unless administration makes a noted exception. I will leave my edit and ask that an admin make the revert, leaving a note here so the discussion is setttled for any future question of Xiriss' exclusion. Gwynna Vive (talk) 00:40, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
