Talk:Asura summon
John Stumme has said for a fact that it is polymock pieces that you are summoning and not the actual creature. I am changing the article to reflect this. -- Broodling 05:35, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
asura summons are not polymock pieces[edit]
- I already had a fight against it in the mursaat talk page.
the only thing that is common between asura summon and polymock pieces are the skin of the creature, they don't use the same skills, they don't have the same atributes, they don't have the same energy, life, name, and even profession for naga shaman( summon is earth elementalist, polymock is ritualist). I agree that the mursaat is not a real one, but i disagree it has anything to do with polymock. you don't need to gain the 4 pieces to summon them, and if you can summon them, it don't gives you the pieces to play polymock. John work for anet, he said it, it don't changes my opinion about it. asura summons are not the creatures they look like, but they are not polymock pieces, they just look like it too. if john and a net have actually work on this "concept" so far, they did a choice i disagree with. i know my disagreement about it have no importance and that if i undo your last edit more others will come kick me for it and state that asura summons are polymock pieces again ; therefor i wont push my stupidity to that point, i leave the article as it is. i don't care, i'll use my signet of spirit absorption on shiro and asura-summon him later. lussh 10:12, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- You are correct. Changed the articles accordingly. 134.130.4.46 15:00, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm going to have to continue to disagree on this matter. Edit: To expand on that, this has been argued before. As Liche/lussh said, John Stumme does work for ANet and he stated how the summons work. I'd prefer more discussion on the issue before sweeping removals. - HeWhoIsPale 15:19, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- He stated "they are polymock", not how they work, and that's clearly wrong (skills, health, see above), so his being an a.net employee does not count for anything in my book. Why would you consider the summons related to polymock at all (besides skill acquisition)? 134.130.4.46 15:47, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- Lets look at the Mursaat for example. An nearly wiped-out, but extremely powerful race due to the genocide at the end of Prophecies, and somehow not only have we bound them to our will, but we have a inexhaustible supply of them to summon for us? Especially considering how the Asura seem to have very little knowledge of the Mursaat, I find that doubtful. - HeWhoIsPale 15:54, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not arguing for "this is a life, real monster mursaat/whatever". I'm arguing against "this is a polymock piece". It's obviously (well, obviously obvious to me and Liche only) a something that's neither a full monster mursaat nor a polymock piece. It would be as wrong to write "it's a real mursaat" as it's wrong to write "it's a polymock piece". 134.130.4.46 16:14, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- Shall we settle on something like 'An Asura Summon is a result of Asuran technology designed to imitate the creature they resemble.' ? - HeWhoIsPale 17:10, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm ok with that. 134.130.4.46 17:30, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- As am I, I'm glad we could reach an agreement. - HeWhoIsPale 17:35, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Spawning Power[edit]
Is their health affected by ritualists' spawning power? Whatever the answer is, it might be worth mentioning here. 88.74.141.71 21:08, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
not a proper noun?[edit]
Is this term used ingame? Otherwise it should be moved to Asura summon; with minorcase S, shouldn't it? —ZerphaThe Improver 19:32, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Nice potential...[edit]
But totally useless at low ranks or unless ur a primary SoI mesmer. Level, damage and health are too low. Maybe if Anet made it lvl 15..20 summon and increased attrib levels OR health, it would be better. 60s recharge is too risky. Ninjas In The Sky 21:38, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Dialogue[edit]
I've discovered these Summons have dialouge when you talk to them during battle. See my comment here. More reserch should be done on the dialouge. BTW Ruby Djinn and Mursaat can walk on the Sulfiric Wasteland (unsure about others) Treesbyty 23:10, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Confirmed Dialouge:
- Fight now. Talk later.
- Not now!
- Fight, damn it!
- Stop wagging your togue and start whooping some butt!
- Duty calls!
- The time for jabbering over a pint will come later.
- Let's give 'em a whooping!
- To arms! To arms!
- Now is not the time for idle chatter.
- The fight rages! The battle is not yet won.
- Help! A little help here!
- Bring me your woes someother time, friend.
- If you haven't noticed, I'm busy at the moment.
- Spill the blood of our foes!
- Tell me later. Right now I have enemies to slaughter.
- We will reminice after the battle is won.
- Your words fall on deaf ears. For now I fight.
Tested the asura summons[edit]
I did a little testing of the summons, nothing groundbreaking but here it is. Tested at Asura rank 9, but I took in account the damage of rank 10. Its also interesting the Mursaat only Weakens foes which are not already Weakened. --SkyHiRider 12:58, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Name of summon | Number of spells cast | Spell is cast every x seconds | Base damage | Special effect | Total damage per one summon(60 seconds) |
Summon Ice Imp | 5 | 12 | 80 | Slows by 66%, AoE(adjacent) | 400 |
Summon Mursaat | 6 | 10 | 50 | 25% penetration, Weakness | 500 |
Summon Naga Shaman | 9 | 6.66667 | 105 | KD if Weakened | 945 |
Summon Ruby Djinn | 11 | 5.45455 | 60 | Burns foe for 42 dmg | 1122(660+462) |
- nice work. i suppose you counted the number of spells cast while the summons were alive, and computed the other columns? The problem is that there's a possible miscalculation because of the missing 6 seconds due to the 54 seconds lifespan at r9 rather then the entire minute at r10. One also has to do a fight which lasts the entire duration of the summons, as they won't cast their spells otherwise. —ZerphaThe Improver 13:43, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- I tested the summons on the battle isles so they were constantly in a fight. Also, most of the summons attempted to cast a spell and were unsummoned during that time so its safe to say that these results accurate. I will test them again when I have rank 10 but that might take a while. Also the summon stays alive for 56 secs so there's a lower chance of miscalculation (only 4 seconds, not 6). --SkyHiRider 13:51, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
