Incorrect information[edit]

The following sentence isn't completely true: "Also, please note that most weapons require a certain amount of Attribute Points to be used to their full potential- if you do not meet the requirements, the weapon will do as much damage as the starter weapon of it's kind. Example: without certain amount of Attribute Points in Axe Mastery, a Icy Chaos Axe of Fortitude will do as much damage as a Starter Axe."

If the weapon is a collector, green, quest or crafted weapon, it will indeed do the same damage as a Starter weapon. An Icy Chaos Axe however is neither of these and will deal half the stated damage; An 6-28 Axe will deal 3-14 damage when the requirement is not met. (changed it) Moon 15:59, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

How?[edit]

I don't see how you can get an attrubute up to level 20. The highest that I can get to is 19 with an elementalist using Glyph of Elemental Power and Elemental Lord. How can you do it?--Sum Mesmer Guy 17:26, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Blessings? BTW this is the 1st discussion I've edited, lol. Ah and there is a weapon mod Item's Attribute +1 (chance: 20%) - If you're lucky you can get it. Ninjas In The Sky 08:28, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Don't Meet Req - PvP Edition[edit]

If you don't meet the req on a PvP weapon, do you get newb damage or 1/2 damage? — ( ɔ \ ʇ ) uɐɥʇıǝɹ Reithan Sig.jpg 05:12, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

The answer APPEARS to be - "Noob damage" — ( ɔ \ ʇ ) uɐɥʇıǝɹ Reithan Sig.jpg 05:19, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Max?[edit]

cant the max be higher than 20? 12 + 3 + 1 + Elemental Power (+2) + Elemental Lord (+1) + 20% weapon mod (+1) + Blessing (+1) + Golden Egg (+1) = 22. 71.202.192.61 05:42, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes and no. There is a cap for base attribute at 20, so no matter what you do, 20 is the most you can get listed and have effective for inherrent effects. However, a proc still works, so you can get to 21 for skills. Backsword 06:49, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Why is the maximum set at 12? Why can't we give our characters 18 fire magic and only 7 energy storage for example. I realise that it will turn some characters into a one trick pony but that should be up to us the player. As far as I see it, we get 200 attribute points to spend at level 20 and we should be able to spend them how we wish!! --Stu 14:32, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Hm:
  • The game is balanced around:
    • 12 is the absolute max a secondary can have.
    • Going above 12 takes serious investment.
    • Getting 16 is only possible in one attribute and requires a -75 health.
    • Getting above 16 requires special spells or circumstances.
  • Maybe they favor generalists over specialists in this because players WAY WAY WAY WAY favor specialists in MMOs to a totally ludicrous and insane degree.
  • Even if you could, the way attribute point costs increase, by the time you got to 15 or 16 in one, you would have NOTHING left. It would be, at best, +24, +28, +33, +37 point cost.
Or something like that --Star Weaver 01:32, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Tee hee hee, he said the game is balanced. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 01:57, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Well, it's more balanced than it would be if you could have a natural 18 Leadership or Water Magic just cause you felt like it, neh? :P --Star Weaver 16:54, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Master of Magic[edit]

Master of Magic sets all elemental attributes to 12. You would of course normally use this skill to increase your attributes, but if one of your elemental attributes already was above 12 then it would be decreased instead. Should this skill be added to the "Temporary increase" section, and perhaps also the "Decreasing attributes" section? User Zeptozoid sig.png Zeptozoid 20:20, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Sure, why not. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 20:28, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Supa Dupa Fire Nuka[edit]

Fire magic: 12+3+1=16+Double Dragon=18+Glyph of Elemental Power=20+Elemental Lord=21+Disciple of Fire Bonus=22+Grail of Might=23+Golden Egg=24+Candy Corn=25

Fire Magic: 12+3+2+2+1+1+1+1+1+1

Guess we need to start editing the wiki to include attributes up to 25 on fire magic skills, XD

As awesome as that would be, attributes can't go past 20 (21 with a proc). --Aldarik 21:29, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Backfire. Lol. 65.183.144.95 20:59, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Navbox[edit]

I think it'd be really convenient to have a navbox for attributes categorized by profession. Thoughts?-- Shew 01:06, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Suggestion[edit]

Put "ATTRIBUTES CANNOT GO ABOVE 21! AND THEY CAN REACH 21!" in a big red banner at the top of this page, skill pages, and all skill talk pages. 90.206.126.155 19:15, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Bug[edit]

I have put +3 and +2 death magic runes on my hero Livia, but her attributes habe not gone above 16 in death magic. Before you ask, yes I did put the maximum number of points into Death Magic too. I would take a screen but I don't know how to get it on the wiki. This also happened when I was trying to put more points into my smiting prayers, for my RoJ monk. Has anyone else experianced this? Jackster 11:47, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Multiple attribute-boosting runes don't stack. See rune. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 15:31, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
