I have been doing some research to figure out their attributes. I'll post my research it it's own section below. --Tloch14 07:24, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Attribute level research[edit]

There are a few assumptions to my research.

The first is that Vanguard Initiate sets your AL to your level and profession. For instance, I am a level 14 warrior, so my AL is 62 (3 x 14 + 20 = 62). The second is that the enemy is at level 11, not 9 or 14. Creatures abide by the same rules as players (in terms of number of attributes points for the given level, etc)

I used a damage calculator to figure out their own attribute levels for both Air Magic and Fire Magic. Here's what I found.

  • Against 62 AL, a level 11 FireStarter using Fire Storm dealt 3 damage.
  • Against 62 AL, a level 11 FireStarter using Lightning Javelin dealth 36 damage.

Based on a damage calc I found online, and considering armor penetration where necessary, it means that their fire magic is only 1, whereas their air magic is 9.

Because having an attribute level of 9 requires a total of 37 attribute points, and 1 requires only 1, of course, the creature has consumed 38 of their attributes already. Placing the remainder into energy storage, you end up with 17, which allows them to have 5 energy storage.

So, my research results with: A level 11 Firestarter has

  • 9 Air Magic
  • 5 Energy Storage
  • 1 Fire Magic.

To confirm this information, I'd like for at least two other people to duplicate the same results under the same assumptions with different circumstances. If we can do this, we can pin down what the attribute levels of the enemy are.

In addition, this will either confirm or refute the claim that Vanguard Initiate overrides your armor level and puts you at what you would be if you were a hero.

New studies to their AI[edit]

I found this out on my Mesmer. If you cast backfire on them, they will not cast any spells below 25% hp and if they are casting at this point they will cancel their current spell. They will start attacking you via wanding which will allow you to cast empathy and kill them. Should this be noted on the notes part?Yumiko ^,~ 17:36, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
