Auron_Bushi A black wolf realy cant complain about that... although it looks as if they aren't takeing full advantage of the how dark they could make it.

NPC Black Wolf[edit]

There are some Black Wolves in Grothmar Wardowns which are NPCs.. You can speak to them (when you call it) but there will be no action when you press space.. poke | talk 14:30, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

The Black Wolves in Grothmar can be charmed, though. Do we know if the Black Wolves in the Far Shiverpeaks can be attacked (and thus, AFK-levelled and evolved to Dire)? I've yet to see one myself, but I know the White Wolves can be, so I'd assume the same applies to Black Wolves. ―ғoятє 18:58, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

They do grow - but not so much as snow wolves[edit]

I raised some black/white wolves to level 20 and dire. They do grow, and they grow quite large. But not as large as Tyrian snow wolves, which are still a bit bigger (dire evolution, too). I found this interesting, as they share the same model. --Longasc 00:02, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Tyrian wolves use a slightly different model than EotN wolves. (The EotN wolves don't have as huge of a hump on their backs) <>Sparky, the Tainted 01:38, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Death Level?[edit]

They can't be death leveled then? I just tried and they won't aggro. They are the same as the White Moa. Dancing Gnome 08:09, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

A few of the EotN pets are just like that. The regular moas (which are only found on the small hill just outside of Umbral Grotto in EotN) are unagroable, too. Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 06:26, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Just play the game to lvl him up :P — Eloc 10:12, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Profession[edit]

then go put no profession on all pets, wich is a useless information. --lussh 04:43, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

You misunderstand me. I didn't say all pets have no profession. I said they all have a profession. Just because it might be useless information to you, doesn't mean it isn't to some people. — Eloc 04:47, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
the so called profession of the pets, it's none, not unknown, since they only attack. if you take their armor in count they are warriors or paragons and i don't see how "unknwown profession" can be any use to anyone.

go put your useless statement on all charmable animals, have fun. --lussh 04:54, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

All monsters have a profession. It has been confirmed by the person at ArenaNet who designs the monsters. — Eloc 15:05, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
you didn't read my lasts sentences.lussh 15:12, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Done. You were right, it was so fun lol. — Eloc 22:26, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Animals arent monsters, thats why you can charm a wolf and not glint. 99.207.80.182 06:43, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Bug[edit]

While doing the quest "Nornhood" I found a bug where a Jotun Bloodcurler had the name Black Wolf. Took a few screenshots, if someone helps me get em on if i already can't, well... Zylo16 14:16, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

It is a common client-side bug where random npcs appear with the name and level of charmable animals in the zone. If you are grouping with other people, usually only you will see it while the others will see the correct name/level. It get fixed most of the time if you just walk away one radar distance from the npc, and then come back.--Fighterdoken 17:07, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

More Bug[edit]

Are these the only charmable pets to show up on the radar as green dots, and at the same time the only ones who will not turn hostile when attempting to attack them? (attempting is the key word here, of course, as a successful attack might actually turn them hostile regadless, but you cannot attack them...). 84.56.134.178 07:07, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
