Talk:Breaching the Stygian Veil
"Can't Touch This!"[edit]
Is it worth bringing? -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 06:00, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Some farming builds use it. They aggro the first group, pull them to the Adepts and bodyblock against the Adepts so that they can safely kill them. http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:E/P_Searing_Stygian_Farmer for an example. Benjammn311 06:11, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Doing this for the Zaishen today, I will have to say, it is very useful, especially for a inexperienced team. One copy on a defense support Paragon works well enough to divert much of the Sygian hunger's health stealing to kill a group of them quicker and easier. PoidracPoidrac 00:06, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- When I asked, it was self-only. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 04:39, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Comment about the walkthrough[edit]
It says "each group can be pulled individually" but if they happen to converge on the adept then I don't see any reasonable way of pulling 1 group. The way I ended up doing it was taking care of the groups that spawned on the left side 1 by 1 and then dealing with the then-converged group of hungers by pulling them so that they all funnel into a big group and using lots of AoE (including Earth Shaker) to kill them off, and then once I managed that I waited near the adept and pulled the remaining groups as they came by.
Point is, it's kind of misleading to just say "each group can be pulled individually" unless I'm missing something here. Pjwned 07:45, 21 June 2011 (UTC) This will likely be the first of many comments involving DoA as I struggle my way through it
- Stand on top of the hill where the groups converge (make sure to clear the patrols in the area), then pull with a longbow. You can pull the groups of 6 one at a time like this.
Wave Composition[edit]
The number of foes is incorrect. Waves 1-3 are 5 each in Hard mode. I have not counted normal nor all the waves. I first noticed this in 2008, but I never counted 4-6, so I've not changed it. I do know that at least one of the 3 groups in wave 6 Hard mode is correct as listed in the article; wave 6 NE matches the data in the table. Waves 1-5 NE are all 5 of the listed type in Hard mode, not 6. MisterB 23:16, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Help for casuals alike[edit]
This game is too old for drama. Here are some exemples, posted by various players, that I hope will be useful to the inexperienced.
Remember to be helpful to new players in outposts instead of shaming them down.
