The first time I saw this skill I thought - OMFG GODLY!!!... but then I realized with all my fortitude mods... NO ONE had more hp then me(not counting wars/para who had same or ones that use hp+ skills)... 09:13, 6 January 2008 (UTC)~

if you wish to use this just use it when your dmged or have less hp mods any way....or go p/n and take some sacrifice skills--82.34.243.68 11:16, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Use with Aura of Lich? lol 76.26.189.65 17:31, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

PvP wise, you might want to save this slot for a running or defensive skill.--ShadowFog 03:08, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Because the last thing you want to do if you are behind health of an opponent is burn them--65.23.193.144 14:36, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
At the speed people dies and gets heal in this game in PvP... this is useless.--ShadowFog 03:36, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
With the amount of armor a Paragon has, you might actually consider using less +health mods, or major/superior runes to make this useful in PvP. 145.94.74.23 10:12, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Burning is a condition. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 00:39, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Does it last for every hit or just one?[edit]

Tryin to make sure. 24.233.254.51 04:34, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Every hit. Skills that end on the next hit, say "the next time xxx". --Mystisteel 04:37, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

How about...?[edit]

A Paragon with this skill and 'They're On Fire!'. Para uses this skill on a Ranger/Necro, then the R/N uses Order Of Pain --> Barrage. Para uses 'They're On Fire!', and R/N continues to spam Order Of Pain --> Barrage. Para sweetens the deal with Blazing Finale and Anthem of Flame. Result: lots of burning on foes, plenty of party damage, lots of damage mitigation. Heck, you could even add a mesmer with Fevered Dreams to make things easier! This has some interesting potential. ~ A R A ~ 02:39, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Dire Pets[edit]

Why was the note on dire pets removed? If a player is running 420 health thats just bad. Dire pets with 420 health is just standard which happens to be quite low. Re-Adding note. And 3 periods is not a real reason for removal. Justice 23:44, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

While it's technically true, is it useful? It's also "useful" on allied minions; is this something important enough to be documented? I mean, would you ever use Burning Refrain for the purpose of increasing a pet's damage? User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 02:19, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Theres a profound difference between a pet and a minion. If someone were to use this skill, dire pets would be a prime target, can you doubt that? May as well remove the other note since with your logic a skill doesnt merit notes if its not being used by you or in meta. Justice 04:44, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

By my logic, notes that (1) are common sense (read: skill description) and (2) aren't helpful don't need to be documented. The note about dire pets falls into the latter category.
Notes like those on Spirit Bond's page are good examples of relevant notes that are neither of the above. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 05:06, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
The skill is only ever used in mass Paragon teams, where it will be maintained on everything. Backsword 05:10, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
A useful note to add would be whether the burning is applied before of after the attack itself hits. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 05:12, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Before, with all probability, as that's how the engine works. Backsword 05:16, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Not without exception. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 05:30, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

AI wont cast this on pets reguardless of health. I had to have my health lower then the targets before hayda would drop it on me. Didnt think to try taking dmg to see if hayda would then use it on me wrather then just lowering my maximum health to below 480 for barrel farming. If I didnt run 650 health on me and 3 heros I might use this. As it is, I would have to hotkey hayda's use of this onto a dire pet. With her few shouts there was no problem in it maintaining itself through the duration of a fight. Want some source of burning now that they nerfed Ruby Djinns forcing me to switch to Naga Shaman for the occasional free KD synergy with Livia's passion for spamming effebling blood. Will test out that one echo that triggers burning on adjacent foes on shout ending. Justice 05:25, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
