Split[edit]

I know typically weapons of the same name with different skins aren't split, but I think this should be an exception -elviondale (tahlk) 08:01, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

The acquisition notes for the two would take up way to much space, IMO, for them both to fit on one page. You would basically have two articles stuffed into one; moving them to two separate articles seems like a much better option. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 00:37, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Seems fine as it is now. --Goteki-45 02:55, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Just because items share a name doesn't mean they're the same thing, two articles and a disambig. page seems best to me. --Tankity Tank 18:47, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Split imo. Lord of all tyria 18:49, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
I think it definitely needs a split, especially seeing as the aquisition is dramatically different. Can we do disambiguation on this wiki? Anon
We appearently have a formatting guideline for this. I really don't like it though, it looks like it was written without consideration of different campaigns. Anon
We also have a good example here, which does use separate articles; the Ironwing Flatbow (weapon that drops), and the Ironwing Flatbow (unique) (weapon that doesn't drop). Myself and Doll have been working over the formatting for all the BMP weapons, and in the current form here, we can't even list the stats on the BMP Charr Axe. If there aren't any outstanding complaints, I'll go about writing the two separate articles later (few days or something, don't want to heedlessly rush anything); we'll turn this article into a disambiguation. Unless someone thinks we should make this one the BMP article (in keeping with the naming format), and make the other axe it's own page, like "Charr Axe (Eye of the North)"? We can work it out the same way as the Ironwing Flatbow, with a disambig stuck on the top of the page... --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 08:27, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Just to note, in response to the anon; that S&F is written for single weapons with multiple skins, like the Earth Staff... but it's not written with stuff like this in mind, which is two entirely separate weapons that share a name. I'm sure we could format this page to fit both weapons and stats, but it would be probably one of the most confusing pages on the wiki, and not really worth the effort... --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 08:31, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah man... have at it with the split + disambig page -elviondale (tahlk) 13:02, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Will do... when I wake up from my stupor. 'Tis noon here on the east coast, and I haven't gone to bed yet. I'll see you all in a week, or a few hours. Not sure how long I'll be out for. If I don't edit for over a month, track me down via my IP address or something and wake me up... --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 17:46, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
The deed is done. Who wants to check over my formatting and point out flaws? This is the first time I've split an article or created any disambiguation pages... --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 09:34, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
