Talk:Choose Your Secondary Profession (Nightfall quest)

When I (as a Dervish) talked to the Warrior Expert before choosing my profession she gave me skills, and I could use them before choosing a secondary. Is this intentional? Do they get stripped from your skill bar if you leave the area? LastDay 17:51, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

If you pick Warrior as your secondary profession, you will retain the skills upon leaving the area. If, however, you decided to pick a different secondary profession, the skills will be removed. The purpose of giving you these skills is so you can "test out" the primary/secondary combination in the area before making your decision. User Ryuu R.jpg Ryuu - Meow~ 17:54, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

Charming animal, then choosing non-ranger[edit]

I wonder... If you get the Ranger skills from the Expert ranger, and you charm an animal, then choose to be a different class, what happens to the pet?

Since you need to have the Charm Animal or Comfort Animal skill equipped for your pet to show up... - Ander01 20:55, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
The animal remains dormant in your possession. It will be accessible again when you later acquire the ability to change secondary profession and change to a Ranger secondary. 66.170.212.17 22:30, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Some skills apparently acquired upon accepting quest reward[edit]

I spoke to the Expert Warrior trainers in the area before completing this quest, and in a sort of fugue state (I have a migraine right now) I chose Paragon. I initially panicked, figuring that I'd lost the chance to get the Paragon skills taught here; but, luckily enough, I seem to have acquired all the Paragon skills that typically come from the trainers here nonetheless. I didn't see a note about this in the article, and while my one experience obviously isn't conclusive, if some other folks can corroborate this such a note could be added.

A-and I forgot to sign again - Apologies. --Mercenary 20:41, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
There are two or three skill trainers for each profession there. When you accept the quest reward you get all the skills those trainers provide in case you missed talking to one of them. - Ander01 20:55, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
Alright, cool. That does sound noteworthy, so I'll go add it now. --Mercenary 22:17, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
