"During this quest, the only foes in the area are the Titans. After completing the quest objectives, you should have an easy time of exploring for the cartographer title."
Wahaha! Who wrote this piece of finest humor? Be warned: If you follow this very interesting idea, you'll find the whole map crowded with titans. Lvl 28(30) Titans! Easy time exploring the map? Dude...you've got it wrong. (removing the note). Pudding 23:14, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

No one ever verified that claim (it was made in nov of 07), since cartography of that area was easy anyways. They probably assumed that since part of the map had no regular mobs nor titans, the rest of the map was empty. --8765 00:15, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Investigating Titan Population - Solo Vanquish[edit]

So last night I soloed this area (a titan-filled Tangle Root) in HM with my 55 necro, just out of curiosity. Since Lingering Curse is no longer a full enchant strip, this entire zone is now possible to 55. Bar: (16 Blood, 9 Protection, 9 Healing, 6 Soul Reaping)

It took 4 hours to vanquish alone, including deaths and runs to the artisan to sell loot, and there were over 210 titans to kill, not counting the 4 titans that spawn from every single Rotting Titan (of which there are a great, great many...) Including second and third generations there must be over 300 kills to make... I remember getting 3 skill points along the way so that's a lot of exp (all foes are L30 I think... or were some L28? Hmmm.) Loot wise, there were Magmas Shields and Fellblades to be had, as well as a LOT of iron ingots, plenty of granite slabs, a few planks of wood and glittering dust, and the occasional steel ingot and roll of parchment. I was about 20k richer, not counting unsold materials, books, golds etc. I abandoned the quest after completion ofc so I can go again some time. I would have to concur that this was not the "easy way" to be doing cartography! Cirian 14:20, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Quest Region Discrepancy[edit]

This quest is GIVEN in the Southern Shiverpeaks This quest is part of the Maguuma Jungle Quests

The mechanics of the wiki pulls from the Region (which is where the quest is listed in your quest list in-game) to create the entry about where the quest is given.. Which provides a Maguuma Jungle link under Droknar's Forge..

Obviously.. prior to my edit.. the solution was to have it listed as Southern Shiverpeaks, so that the information pertinent to where to add the quest remains accurate. But this leaves the information pertinent to where in the game the actual quest takes place, as inaccurate.

Obviously we shouldn't have to choose between one inaccurate entry over another.. can someone with more wiki skills edit this so both data entries actually reflect the in-game information.

Both parties looking to where to start the quest with a Vision of Glint, and those looking to actually start the quest out in Maguuma Jungle should be able to get the information they need from this entry. --98.222.56.230 14:47, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
